Last night on Sirius 23 GD Channel, Big Steve had Bobby Weir guest. It was a great show and like being with 2 lifelong friends tell crazy stories from the past.
At one point, they talked about acquiring a real old bag of medical tools at some flea market in London presumably from one of the Dead's runs thru Europe in the early 70s.
Steve said that old bag came in handy often while on the road. He used a pair of pliars to take out Levon Helm's tooth once and "operated on some of the Allman Brothers". Didn't go into details. Anyone ever heard this story before?
Made me think how great it would be if someone could interview this guy and get his ABB tales from when the bands played the same gigs. He's so articulate with a great memory I bet it would be fantastic.

Ha ha. I heard you. I interviewed Steve for One Way Out and he is in there. He did not share this.. but he's also gotten a lot more losselipped recently. I'd talk to him again anytime!
