Really impressed. Natural progression to listening to ABB and to interpret jazz.

I bought this when it came out in November. Good stuff. I enjoy it a lot. I will admit it makes me miss the ABB though. Nothing like the real deal.

Long Live the Allman Brothers Band!

Yes! It is so well done with nods to various eras of jazz and all the Allman's parts and intricacies. Can tell the folks that put it together really knew their stuff and are big fans. Job well done. Encourage every Allman fans (and even fans of big band and jazz music) to listen to this album.

Yes I'm diggin it. It may not be for everybody, but to me it's amazing how easily Allman Brothers Band melodies and chord progressions fit right into the Big Band sound.
Don't Want You No More sounds like a cool 60's spy thriller TV theme song. I used to blast Hot'lanta around the house and my Mother would yell, "Turn that down"! If she heard the Big Band version she's be dancing with the Old Man in front of the fireplace!
The Big Band of Brothers definitely did their homework on these tunes. They may as well take it a step further and have a Sinatra impersonator lay down some vocals. Frank does Southbound! What a hoot that would be.
It's similar to when the "Pickin On" series of bluegrass interpretations came out. After 50 years a fresh version of a classic song is not unwelcome. I once heard a gal in a campground play Blue Sky on a pan flute and she nailed the solos!
I'd like to hear them do some Atlanta Rhythm Section tunes, or maybe some jazzy MTB like This Ol Cowboy.

Sure hope everybody's doing well.

I just got this. It is GREAT.

A lot of the tribute albums or switched genre albums fall short because maybe the tribute folks don't get it or else because certain tunes do not lend themselves to adaptation. However, this crew gets it. And these songs lend themselves to it.

It won't make you throw away your jazz discs or your ABB discs, and that is OK. It just freaking SWINGS.

The vocalists are well-chosen. I like hearing a woman sing the ABB. It destroys the "How much does this sound like Gregg" comparisons that I fall into.

It is cool that jack pearson throws some mojo on it. Come one!!

The 12-minute "Les Brers" was worth the whole price of admission.

Just picked it up last week, figured I’d like, had heard sample, read the comments, didn’t wanna overexpect & be a letdown which has happened before 😮 - but great stuff alright, Real Nice - those lead passages Duane & Dickey played are front & center - great cover of Les Brers as mentioned, the Dreams I really like too at this early time 😮
