Most disappointing was Gary Clark Jr at the Bowery Ballroom. Just boring which was a shame as I have seen him before and enjoyed him.

Jaimoes Jazz Band
TTB

Seriously Fender? Shoot I ain't been to a show since may of 2015!!!! Caught my 2 faves though, last march caught Gregg and His Band and then in may Bob Dylan, both in historic old revamped movie theatres, those shows have tided me over, but I is craving some good live music, just hasn't come together lately..........Wishin Peace To Everybody........joe

Pearl Jam 5/1 and 5/2 at MSG - two nights that felt like one long, great show. I had not seen them before and was surprised how much I enjoyed it.
Mudcrutch at Webster Hall was great.
Dan Baird and Homemade Sin rocked hard at Hill Country back in Feb.

Alvin Youngblood Hart
Elvin Bishop w Charlie Musslewhite

Having a slow year so far having seen
Yonder
Warren's Jerry symphony
Mudcrutch
Brit Floyd
And a little music in Steve Martin and Martin Short (Steep Canyon Rangers)
Somewhat more in Prairie Home Companion (Skaggs and KY Thunder)
But my favorite was Dave Rawlings Machine-great picking, good harmonies and fine material. Also the cheapest!

Simo at Workplay, 2/11/16 - took a chance on this one, thought I recognized the name - the next generation of guitar heroes.
Anders Osborne at Workplay, 2/12/16 - the very next day.
Luther Dickinson & the Cooperators at Saturn, 3/10/16 - felt like I was watching Luther do a casual show on someone's front porch.
Taj Mahal at Lyric Theatre, 4/21/16 - masterful

Favorites so far:
Jayhawks
Wanee highlights - Wood Brothers, Warren Ashes & Dust Band, Gregg, Jaimoe's Jassz Band
Mudcrutch
I'll be adding to that list of favorites soon I'm sure (TTB/Los Lobos + GnR before month's end!). Hoping to catch Lyle Lovett's Large Band in August at Botanical Gardens, too.
I haven't been to Chastain Park this year and I need to correct that, too. Good seats there always elevate a show.

1) David Gilmour - MSG
2) TTB - Saratoga Springs
3) Phil Lesh 76th w/ Warren - Capitol Theatre
4) Natalie Merchant - Beacon
5) Mavis Staples - Foxwoods
6) Jackson Browne - Beacon

Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals was the best show I have seen this year.
Gary Clark Jr. would be a close runner up.
In 2016 I've also seen:
Mumford & Sons
Alabama Shakes
Buddy Guy
Johnny Lang
Dawes
Greensky Bluegrass
My Morning Jacket

Santana & Journey has been my favorite this year so far

Last nights Wheels of Soul Tour

Steven Wilson at the Beacon - prog lives!
David Gilmour at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago - no one's more epic

TTB at the Apollo
Just caught Amy Helm at Battery Park a couple of weeks ago and that is currently my favorite of the year (and that includes all of the balls out amazing music at Wanee - Gregg, Jaimoe, Les Brers, etc)

I've only been to two this year, Mule on April 18 and Pearl Jam on April 21. Both were about 3 hours long and I had a real good time at each show.
I have to call a tie.

Dead and Company at Fenway Park Friday.
I wasn't going to go but I won tickets at the last moment. The best post Grateful Dead show I've seen since the Wave That Flag tour of 2004. John Mayer was having a great time as was the crowd. Speaking of the crowd, lots of good vibes. At the beginning of The Music Never Stopped this old woman comes out on stage and it turns out to be Donna Jean. That was pretty cool. A good time was had by one and all.

TTB Keswick and NJPAC
Todd Rundgren - NJPAC
Dave Matthews Band - SPAC
New Order - Tower Theater
Steely Dan and Steve Winwood - Bethel Woods

2. Tedeschi Trucks Band
3. Samantha Fish
4. Makana (Hawaiian slack key guitarist)
5. Femi Kuti
6. Kingfish Ingram
7. Indigenous
8. Lloyd Jones
more shows coming up: Los Lonely Boys, more TTB!!, Buena Vista Social Club and Gov't Mule w/ Blackberry Smoke!

this is my last year as a broke undergrad; live shows have very much had to take a back seat. I have only seen one; Fred Eaglesmith, a few weeks ago, and he was great
