Beacon Theater Ticket question

I know I should probably post this in the Beacon theater section but I can’t imagine it gets many views these days.
I am wondering if people have gone to the Beacon for shows other than the ABB, more specifically obtaining tickets for shows at the Beacon.
I am trying to go see a show there that is sold out in Early April, I am checking TM constantly hoping for a ticket release but haven’t been able to pull even a single. I have had great luck with releases for the ABB beacon run but am not sure if that is an anomaly for the Beacon, does anybody know if ticket releases are fairly constant for the venue? Scalper prices are about 2-3X’s face value right now and I’m starting to worry that I might have to go down that road.

They generally drop tickets a couple weeks, 10ish days, one week, and just a day or 2 before most shows, especially if a band is playing multiple nights. I bought a front row center Steely Dan ticket a couple years ago, just a few days before the show.

perfect, just what i wanted to hear. This is a one and done show so not sure if that affects the drop at all. I know the ABB used to have their drops a month or so before so i was really starting to feel discouraged.
I'll hold out then and keep checking, only problem is their is a limited number of tix out there in the secondary market right now so its a tough gamble.

Beacon releases for sure. I am guessing though that you are talking about the Decemberists and with as hot as that ticket is you will be up against it a bit because the spinners would be banging away at that show constantly seeing even upper balcony tix are getting money. Good luck in any event.

actually Damien Rice, but just as hot as the Decemberists, maybe even more so where he hasn't toured since 2007-2008.

I checked what they are both actually selling for on stubhub and while Decemberists are stronger overall especially for crappy seats you are right that one looks tough. Lots of what is left listed are singles. So neither one seems like will be easy but I hope you get lucky and see a release for what you want.

If you feel like gambling you can try going to the box office day of show. I've only been disappointed once (Ray Davies) over the years .Get there at least by 5:30 to get a good position on the line.

I don't see the Beacon as any different from any other venue with regard to ticket drops. You can see them a month in advance or the day of the show. As Davel57 posted, seats are often released a couple of hours before show time.
Same deal goes for scalpers. Stub Hub lists almost 300 tickets, and that's with less than two weeks before show- 10% of the capacity. If you can wait until last minute you might see them drop below face.
