Bands that never did covers

I learned a ton of guitar parts from these guys. If no one gets it then I will venture a guess later on.

I have said nothing. LOL
They had about 20 songs per album too. One of the coolest bands ever.

One of the coolest bands ever.
Phenomenal - I saw them in 1986 at a police fundraiser in Lacey, Washington - it was a trip, all these old ladies got their mod gear out of mothballs, psychedelic miniskirts, dayglo gogo boots, beehive hair, and the band was out of this world - drum solo for twenty minutes, playin knick knack on everything in sight, the amps, the floor, mic stands, the bass strings - incredible. We were the only people under 40 in the grange.

thanks. i had no idea they did so many covers

I mentioned Queen and The Cars above as bands that I can't recall doing covers.
Did AC/DC do any?

Those groups sound possible, they were unique enough. ACDC would be a real win, since they are pretty straightahead rocknroll, seems like they had to cover something.
Gotta ask the matt05, he has a line on this info

Thats ok - I had no idea that they had originals.
My buddy's Dad had at least 20 of their albums. They would fire out a bunch each year.

AC/DC did a cover of Baby Please Don't Go on the '74 Jailbreak album, I believe

someone beat me to it. the band did at least 1 cover with baby please don't go
the cars are mentioned. they released a few covers on the mid 90's anthology. one was a cover of fun time
queen, i know of 2 covers. an instrumental of the traditional god save the queen and big spender live plus the did a live medley of 50's rock tunes

Again, I think the interesting distinction is the role that covers play in a band's career.
A staple of their ongoing work? A regular part of their studio recordings?
A frequent live treat?
A part of their early days only, pretty much?
A fun fling late in their career?
Reserved mainly for a covers album only?
A B side? An appearance on a tribute album?
An occasional live treat?
Something that does not appear on an official release?

King Crimson

We recently learned that Deep Purple covered Hot Lanta

bettyhynes,
Crimson is a good call. They did cover Holst's "Mars, The Bringer of War" on their first tour.
I saw them on Broadway in 1995, just before the Beatles Anthology I came out, and Adrian Belew did do a solo cover of the Beatles outtake "Free As A Bird." Beautiful.
