Pretty excited when I heard Rich Robinson was going to touring as the guitar player. Big fan of his. I guess they have 2 guitarists. Nothing aghainst Howard Lease, fine player, but he seems to be the featrure player from the videos I have seen. Hmm... maybe I missed soemthing

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Looking forward to hearing reviews of Chris Robinson with them. Part of me doesn't understand how they can call themselves Bad Company with only two of them but I'm sure it will be great. I would go see Paul Rodgers do anything.
Well except sing Queen songs. 😉

Nice!!! Getting together with friends this Friday to catch this gig. I've been looking forward to it for a while. Cheers!

Paul Rogers still sounds great, thanks for the videos.

Well if they are going to call themselves Bad Company, they why not do a Free tour with Rich playing guitar. More if a fan of that band vs BC.
I thought Paul fit well with Queen.

I just don't like Queen. Respectful and all but I just thought it was an odd fit.

Mick & Simon did for about 10 years in the 80s & 90s & had moderate success at it.

Me too. Check this out, "Somebody to love" with George Micheal.....yes that George Micheal

I wish Bad co would work on a new album.

I would say more than moderate actually. Brian Howe as the vocalist was a great addition IMO. It's too bad that after that ended, Mick & Simon wanted to sue Brian for calling himself "former singer of Bad Co.". Or something like that. Glad he won. He WAS a former singer for them.

A couple of years ago, Brian Howe played a biker rally near Chattanooga, but it was promoted as "Bad Company".
I thought his version of Bad Co. was a bit too power ballady. There were a couple of good songs, but like many good bands in the 80's they sounded of the time.

Oh you are totally correct. I LOVE Bad Company but never thought of it in those terms. I think Brian did a great job doing Paul Rodgers' vocals on the old tunes as well. But to your point, there were a lot of power ballads with Brian. I like both of them. Bad Co. put out a last album with another guy that isn't too bad either.
It kind of reminds me of Van Halen. When Hagar joined it wasn't as heavily 70s era guitar driven. I enjoy both of those versions as well, just different sounds.
Thanks for your comment.

No Mick Ralphs in the line-up?

Robert Hart had a voice much closer to Paul Rodgers' voice and wasn't that bad for the brief time he was in the band. I thought he was much more soulful and truer to the original sound than Brian Howe. I did see that version live in concert and it was pretty good.

Caught the show at the Forum. Bad Company Rocked It! Had everyone up singing and grooving especially the gals! Joe was spot on too. As mentioned in the OP, he played Bolero. Life In The Fast Lane was a kick too. If you they're passing through your town and you don't have plans, go for it!

I liked Howe's work with Ted Nugent. Easy to see why Bad Co scooped him up as there are definite similarities in voice and singing style.
Tied Up In Love
One of my wife's favorite albums is Bad Co's Here Comes Trouble which is a pretty decent album.

That is a great album in my opinion. TItle tracks rocks.
Bad Bad Co. story (no pun intended).
In 1991 there was a great tour: Damn Yankees, Bad Co. and Drivin' & Cryin' opening. I think the first two switched as to who was the closer each night. For the local Detroit show of course the Damn Yankees are going to close because of Ted.
So I get four tickets: a pair for me and my girlfriend and a pair for my pal and his girl. I was SO looking forward to this. For whatever reason, after giving my buddy his pair, I gave my pair to my girl for safe keeping. The night of the show we all show up at my girlfriend's place to drive down to the show.
I asked April for our tickets. She looked around and around and couldn't find them. We searched high and low and they were nowhere to be found. Finally my friend said they had to go.
Concert was sold out. Today I would have went anyhow and work some magic but then I didn't know any better.
So I bought four tickets to a concert that I would have killed to see and I was stuck in a tiny apartment with this chick.
Couple years later my friend was getting married. I stood up in the wedding. We were standing there and he says "remember that Damn Yankees, Bad Co. show? Wasn't it great?".
If ever there was a moment when you want to be the one to stand up and say you don't want this couple to be married, that would have been it.

You should have. Teach him a lesson.
Did your girlfriend ever find the tickets?
I was going to Black Sabbath and my buddy had our tickets. We had a party at his place before the show starting with an afternoon BBQ. Time to leave arrives and my buddy starts looking worried as he starts searching for our tickets. We tore his parents place apart.
At the last moment he remembers that he hid them in his Paranoid album when he was rolling on it.
3rd row - he thought I was going to kill him.
Who the hell hides tickets?

Hell. Yes.
They'd likely sell only 35 tickets per show but I'd be there. Wonder if Rich has the vibrato to do Free?

Did your girlfriend ever find the tickets?
I guess that would be chapter two. It would have been in her best interests if they were never in her apartment but they were. If you think I was mad the first night but when I found out she actually had them the whole time?
Good Lord.
Her name is April because she was born on April first. That's why her mom named her that. I think it was a joke to me.

Who the hell hides tickets?
Another funny story along those lines. When The Eagles did The Hell Freezes Over Tour in '94 I think is was, they played Tiger Stadium in Detroit. I guess I learned my lesson and held on to my pair of tix. 😉
My best friend also got a pair and put them on the top of his dresser. His girlfriend got mad at him and ripped them in half and threw them at him. He taped them back together and got in.
They broke up. 😉
