Artists you and nobody else here saw live

The Ventures came up on the covers thread, it occurred to me I might be the only person here who ever saw them live.
Heres who I saw live I bet nobody else here did
Get your brag on folks
The Ventures
Bob Marley and the Wailers
Quicksilver Messenger Service
Little Feat with Lowell George
Kraftwerk
Ginger Baker - Baker Gurvitz Army
Kingfish
Keith and Donna Godchaux band

Meat Puppets
Black Flag
Hüsker Dü
Fairport Convention
Bert Jansch
I know amyjared may challenge me on the punk, but I bet a few of these will survive the thread.

Cool topic. As a 52-year-old who loves rock music, I certainly do lament missing out on some bands like Zepp etc.
Out of the bands you listed, I did see the Screaming Trees. They were great. It was at their commercial peak, so it was an arena show; it was a triple bill of them, Soul Asylum, and Spin Doctors, sponsored by MTV.
A great band I saw that maybe not many people did was Uncle Tupelo. They opened for The Replacements in 1991.
I also was lucky enough to see Ray Gillen sing for Black Sabbath, which he only did for one tour, and was unfortunate enough to see Joe Lynn Turner sing for Deep Purple, which he only did for one tour, and I did catch Kansas during the short run when Steve Morse was their lead guitarist.

Wow! All those shows and you were the only one in the audience? 😉
I saw Kraftwerk - with opening act, the Atlanta Rhythm Section.
I saw Moon Alice in Macon a few years back. Relatively obscure band that plays rarely. But there were other people in the audience. 😉

If you read the thread title and post wording closely it says "Only person HERE" meaning only person on this forum, although yes it could be construed as only person on the planet.
Really wish I had seen Atlanta Rhythm Section. Have seen Moonalice twice. Fun band.
I believe there may be one other victim/survivor of Nektar here.

Two that might stick....
The Seldom Scene.
The Almost Brothers Band.
Upon further review.... I didn't read the thread title correctly.
That is two bands I did see which I'm not sure if anyone else may have seen.

Culture Club
With a cousin visiting from Germany

I am embarrassed to admit that I saw Brooklyn Bridge recently...in my defense, I won tickets off the radio because I knew that the year that King Kong scaled the Empire State Building was 1933....

I saw Kingfish twice as an opening acts in Oakland in 1976 at two different Days on the Green. The first time they opened for the Beach Boys and Chicago and second time they opened for the Doobie Brother and Eagles. Commander Cody and his lost planet airmen were also on both of those bills with Kingfish

My dad and I had front row to see tom waits live on the big time tour at a small theatre in NYC. I was a teenager and it was the mid eighties. Still have the ticket stub and playbill. My dad recently passed and am so glad I have this memory. Went to a number of shows with him including front row to neil young solo at the theatre at msg in 1999. That was also a fantastic show and a great memory.

Smoked on Kingfish, Kraftwerk, Screaming Trees
Gonna try and fix the hole with:
Midnight Oil
Jesus Christ Superstar original Broadway cast(amazing)
Joe Walsh and Barnstormers

saw ethyl meatplow at a club in nyc in the nineties...i am almost positive nobody here saw them
saw rage against the machine at the wetlands in nyc...

Never heard of Ethyl Meatplow. Saw Rage Against the Overly Long Band Names as backup for U2. Loved em, that Ghost of Tom Joad number excellent.

I saw the Ventures in the 60's. Maybe the only time I saw someone play a Fender Jazzmaster.
Also saw Moby Grape about 1967. They put out about 5 singles on Columbia records at the same time. The label and the promotion on TV and radio was predicting they would be as big as The Beatles. I enjoyed the show okay but they apparently didnt make it as a opening act band much less Beatles fame.

I saw (Johnny Maestro & the)Brooklyn Bridge open up for The Young Rascals in 1967. It was at the Westbury Music Fair in Westbury, Long Island. The place was at the time a large circus tent! The group was best known for their million-selling rendition of Jimmy Webb's "Worst That Could Happen".
I saw Nektar. It was in Manhattan at The Palladium.
I still have this album...
I saw Quicksilver Messenger Service. It was at The Ritz theater in Staten Island.
'Malo' (Jorge Santana brother of Carlos Santana was in the band)was opening band. Early 70's.

"Johnny and Edgar Winter
Koko Taylor"
First saw Johnny in 1970 when he started the JW And tour.

I saw Alice Cooper at the Fillmore East in June 71,Bloodrock opened, their hit at the times was DOA,my weirdest Fillmore East show ever, I wanted to see the Allmans one more time before final closing but only Alice Cooper tickets were available at the time.

The Good Rats
Johnny and Edgar Winter
Jefferson Airplane
The Good Rats - At the Palladium in Manhattan.
They were grabbing out of trash cans large rubber rats and flinging 'em into the crowd.
I caught one in the first level Loge section! 😮
Johnny and Edgar Winter - Yes, it was called the Felt Forum at Madison Square Garden. I remember having this t-shirt with the profiles of the brothers on the t-shirt.
I was at this show where Johnny came out of re-hab and made a surprise appearance playing four songs.
Jefferson Airplane - sadly I passed once to see 'em at the Fillmore.
I saw a few early shows of the Starship.

Awesome list 50split, esp the Beats doing that 2nd Ed Sullivan show taping in Miami -
that’s also when they were photographed clowning w/Muhammad Ali when Ali was getting ready for the Sonny Liston match
My entry would be Ox, John Entwhistle’s solo band, at a club gig - sat mere feet away from one of my heroes, & went thru the ceiling when they opened w/My Wife

CAPTAIN BEYOND!!
To this day I've never met anyone besides myself and my buddy who went with me who ever saw them. Hollywood Bowl, 1972: Black Sabbath, Gentle Giant, Captain Beyond.
CB did a 45 minute set, their entire first record start to finish. If you've ever heard that record you have an idea of how outstanding their set was. Standing ovation when they were done.............and I think very few of us had ever heard of them. I for sure had not. I had the record within a week.
Really a crying shame what happened to that band. They were on Capricorn who of course was promoting Southern Rock including you know who. To them CB was very marginal. Oh By The Way: That first record was produced by Johnny Sandlin. Amazing what he accomplished in 1972 because the sound on that record still holds up.............really ahead of it's time. In his book Sandlin said simply, "They were great".

I am in awe robslob - would agree you’re among a precious few to have seen them - I flipped my lid when I came across the vid of their Montreaux show - & still do 😮
As you said the amazing Sound of that album holds up to this day (produced by Captain Beyond, mixed by Johnny Sandlin, sez liner notes ) - Johnny - what a musical genius that guy was, his body of work is amazing - feel so lucky we got his book
Captain Beyond has its own niche in my collection & ears alright - Still have my holographic album - bought it the same day as Duane Allman, An Anthology
Two of the All-Time great records - Eat A Peach, and Captain Beyond - both dedicated to the memory of this incomparable musician - & both helped to those heights by Johnny’s participation in them
Cool thread

I have seen 15 on your list. Could likely create a list of over a hundred that no one here even heard of.
But I also did it for a living and saw countless shows for free.
Punk? Saw most of the know acts and after over a dozen Warped Tours at least a few hundred unknown acts.
Not a concert but being close to greatness. As a kid, my parents took me to the Bahamas for vacation. We were eating in a small restaurant. The only other people eating there were The Beatles. Sadly I was way too young to know and/or care. Mom was impressed with how polite the Beatles and their crew were.
My parents had a knack for that stuff. Many years later, I was sitting at home when the phone rings. Mom and Dad were in Antigua on vacation. I answer and Dad tells me that he is hanging with his new friend, Mark. Suddenly he puts the guy on the phone to chat with me. It was Mark Knofler who was staying at the same resort.
Dad had virtually no idea who he was. They had just started chatting and music came up. Once dad finds out that he is famous, he tells Mark that he has to call me. LOL - My Dad was too funny sometimes. At first I thought it was a joke until Mark told me that he didn't think he had a choice in speaking to me - Dad was pretty insistent at times. LOL
I told mark that my Dad was a huge Chet Atkins fan. Chatted for a minute and thanked him for humoring my Dad. I hung up and Dad and mark hung out and chatted about Chet. The only tunes that Dad ever heard by Mark was the album that he did with Chet. Dad loved that album.
Many people try to meet Rock stars. My parents did without even trying and were not even slightly phased when they did.
Sorry for the Saturday morning side-track. Memories.

Hugely special ones too bro WOW - thx for sharing
Peachnutt seeing Duane sit in w/the 31st of February, awe-some

Punk? Saw most of the know acts and after over a dozen Warped Tours at least a few hundred unknown acts.
I believe The Clash would have been classified as punk. Did you see them James? Multiple times? I had many chances to see them when in my 20's in L.A. but never did and it really pisses me off because now I realize that they were really one of the greatest rock and roll bands EVER and I love them. But back then I just didn't get it. I did at least catch Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros at a Festival, I'm guessing that would have been around 2000. It was only a year or two before he died.
I guess I should add The Mescaleros to bands I saw that nobody else did. It was high energy Ska music, very intense. I can't say they knocked me out...........to be honest their set seemed a bit disjointed..........but I'm glad I was able to catch Strummer.
