saw them around then or just before. Loved Gasoline Alley back then. Rod came out drinking from a bottle of whiskey at the mic, they were all pretty drunk unfortunately.

I dig the Faces overall. Hit and miss live. Their live album "Coast to Coast" is mighty rough as I recall.

Never saw the Faces but from the shows I've heard I'm sure there was real whiskey in that jar. Not like other bands at the time that put pepsi in a whiskey bottle and chugged all night.

Last time I saw Iggy he was spitting bottled water on the crowd.

Saw them at the Garden around that time...First concert I went to..TWO opening acts...Bullangus and Cactus...During the drum solo in I'm Losing You, Rod was kicking soccer balls into the crowd!

I saw them in '72 at The Hollywood Palladium, capacity maybe 3,000. Awesome rock 'n' roll show, and you wouldn't believe how loud they played back then. My ears rang for several days. The chicks were just ga-ga over Rod Stewart. Even though Ronnie Lane is in this video, by the time I saw them later in '72, Lane had been replaced by Japanese bassist Tetsu Yamauchi. Lane suffered from multiple sclerosis and passed away in 1997.

I met Faces keyboard player Ian McLagan in the lobby after a show he did here a few years ago, only about a year before he died. To my disbelief he remembered this show I saw in '72 at The Hollywood Palladium: "Oh, yes, of course, it was the only time we played there. There was a big party after the show, we did all kinds of drink and blow. Dylan was there, he was the first one to arrive and the last to leave. Then we went into the studio and stayed up the rest of the night mixing the live record. That's why the sound is so bad, we were all sauced."

Very sweet, friendly English gentleman, Ian was.
