Just seen him last night with his Raconteurs band, amazing show and his band was great, especially his guitarist, singer Brendan Benson.
I didn't get to see the White Stripes and haven't seen his other band Dead Weather but I've seen him solo.
What a performer and innovator... it's nice to see him doing so well with all his bands.
He's playing here in Vancouver tonight as well as last night and played a small record store in the city today... my friend who I went to the show with last night lives in Vancouver and went to the store today and said it was amazing!

Lazaretto took awhile to grow on me.... I love Blunderbuss.
I enjoy some of his music. Great artist.

An average “talent” who struck gold for reasons tahr escape me.....
I've gotten albums by the White Stripes as well as his other bands the Dead Weather and the Raconteurs. The guy rocks. He has a good way with a riff and a hook and a melody, an effortless groove. He also mixes new tech with old sounds in a very interesting way.
He really is a throwback to old school garage rock in a lot of ways - he coulda been in Them or the Blue Cheer.

I am with you BigV. Always thought his music was average at best and not very memorable.
Maybe he stands out due to the mediocre music scene of today in general. IMHO it does not take much to stand out these days.
But that being said I am sure his fans could say the same about some of the bands I like so YMMV.

I like Jack. Can't say I am a fan of all of his stuff. The Raconteurs performance from 2008 Bonaroo won me over. That was a great performance.....Rock and Roll!!!!!

In my opinion with 50 years of buying music and going to see bands he has much more than average or mediocre "talent" as stated by a couple "experts" here.
Reminds me of so called experts that are music critics here in Vancouver... I can't stand any of their opinions, never have.

Relax friend, everyone is entitled to their opinion even those you don't agree with. I have been buying music and attending concerts almost as long as you have so is my opinion any less valid than yours?
And never said he was not talented only that I found his music to be mediocre. Too each his own.
