"And someone said 'Fair Warning'! Lord, strike that poor boy down" 40th anniversary 4-29-81

I usually say that Fair Warning is my favorite VH album!

My favs are kind of a tossup. Van Halen or 5150. The first one for the guitar driven approach. I like 5150 for a more 80s sound that they went for. Plus I like Hagar's voice better.
My least favorite by far is 1984. God I hate that album. The year 1984 was when we first got cable when I was a young teen. MTV played the living crap out of it. Plus I thought the songs were kind of well, stupid. Panana, Jump with Roth jumping around with a mic stand, Hot for Teacher. You'd think for a teenage boy would like it if they liked rock but I never did. Still to this day.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

I was just reading Black Sabbath in 1978 had to warn Van Halen to stop ripping their bag of tricks in 1978. Butler said " The thing that pissed me off was that at the beginning of the tour (Van Halen opened for Sabbath on a 1978 tour) they seemed like a really raw band. But as the tour went on they began ripping us off". " Eddie's guitar solos were getting longer, David Lee Roth was copying everything Ozzy was doing and their bass player even started using a wah pedal at a time when I was the only bass player using a wah pedal. By the time we went on everyone had already seen what we did."
Iommi " They watched us almost every night from the side of the stage. It became awkward when we would come on stage and it felt like we were just doing what they were just doing. One night I said to Eddie, ' Hey Eddie, are you gonna play a couple of tracks off our new album tomorrow?'".
Iommi had to issue Eddie fair warning "that his band was getting out of line".

Such a good album.
