Allow Allmans Recording On Torrent Sites

and with Jerry Garcia's passing a lot of Deadheads started migrating to the Allman Brothers shows.
Plus with the addition of a young Derek Trucks, and the return of Warren Haynes, an even larger group migrated towards the ABB.
Might not have happened as much with players other than them.I would be willing to wager that a lot of the attendees at ABB shows would not be able to name the two guitar players in the band, if asked.
On 10/28/14 everyone in the building knew their names 😉

Which one was Dickey?

im taking a guess but thinking this also has to do with kirk leaving...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------I don't think so. The archive releases were in 2002, '03, '04, '05, and '07. As I remember it, Kirk's exit was in 2010. They did them every year for a few years, then the Boston Common show got pushed back a year, and then there was never any word about a next one. There was no announcement that the series had ended, either. Some time later they just kind of said 'Oh, that? We're not doing that anymore.'
i was thinking along the lines that since kirk was a supporter of the archival releases, he was helping to convince others that these needed to be put out..............

Really? I mean...I knew of the ones who say things like "which one is the drummers kid?" but...really?!

i would say so as well.........
cant remember how many times someone has mentioned dickey dying in a motorcyle accident........

OK. I'm really confused actually...A band lineup has been together for close to 15 years with the same players, and people paying to see a show by that band wouldn't know who the players are? 😮

That simply amazes me.....

These things can both be true. Anyway I think we forget sometimes that it's a good thing if not everybody at the show is a diehard fan. (Although it's annoying if they are doofuses who just showed up to get drunk.) For the record, I hear someone say "They named that album Eat a Peach because Duane Allman drove his motorcycle into a peach truck and died" at two different shows last month. I couldn't tell if it was the same guy. Among younger fans I think Derek and Warren and Oteil were a major draw in the last years of the band. I've said in other threads that they gave the band credibility because they were the ones who kept the music interesting.

Last few posts reminded me of one night at the Beacon a couple of years ago.
A guy sitting in front of me in the Loge with his buddies.
He would get up several times to get a beer or pee...RIGHT BEFORE OR DURING THE GUITAR BREAKS IN THE SONGS! 😮 WTF!

I was at a show at PNC where a guy in the second or third row (IE he paid a lot for his ticket) turned his back to the stage to shout out to some buddies sitting about ten rows behind him at the start of Derek's solo in Dreams.
Even at the 10/28 show, where there were definitely more hardcore fans than usual, the level of talk and chatter during the show was sickening.

Fortunately I did not have that around me, or someone would have been punched in the mouth.
Just sayin 😉

Hehehehehe
But,seriously,I was pleased and surprised how quiet the talkers were compared to many shows in the past.

I don't know where you guys are looking but all the torrent sites have their instant live shows.I have downloaded years of beacon including the oct shows.
Pirates Bay

most of us are talking about legitmate torrent sites with artist "approved" audience recordings that are not considered copyright violations
examples bt.etree, lossless legs, archive.org, etc
imo, it is places like pirates bay that give torrents and downloading a bad name
