Allman Brothers show question - from the memory hole

I have this hazy memory of a show and wanted to verify it even happened, or perhaps it's a dream.
In my mind it was somewhere between perhaps 1981 and 1989. Somewhere around eastern Indiana or maybe western Ohio. Outdoor show. I am picturing a fairly ad-hoc stage, scaffolding set up on a farm somewhere, at the bottom of a gully where the fans sat in the meadow above. I don't remember it as a formal/official venue.
I remember it as an Allman Brothers show, with a couple other acts. I have been through some online set lists, and not found much. I see that there was apparently a 1989 Riverbend show, which is geographically appropriate, but that doesn't ring the bell for me. I've been to Riverbend. There's also The Blossom and Pine Knob, but don't think that was it.
I dunno, perhaps it was just Gregg.
Can anyone rescue me from this fog?
Thanks in advance.

Wow, must have been a pretty good show! Does Electric Cowboy Festival ring a bell? Was Wolfman Jack the MC?
I'm still trying to figure out if Watkins Glen was a dream.

Oh man, I don't think the Electric Cowboy festival was it, but that sure fits the bill. I wish it was!
You'd think I'd remember that....

If it's an Allman Brothers' show, it should be easier to narrow down since of those years the Brothers only toured in 1989 and 1981. It might have been just a Gregg show, he was doing smaller venues during that period.

Another testimonial against drug use...

Hmmm, I saw the Allman Brothers at Blossom Music Center near Cleveland in the summers of 1980 and 1981. Last time I checked, neither one of these shows appeared in the data base in those years, so the data base in incomplete for that period. The Allman Brothers also played an outdoor Southern Rock festival near Athens, Ohio in the summer of 1979 or 1980. Charlie Daniels was also at this festival, which was in an outdoor setting like you described. Maybe it was billed as "Volunteer Jam" or something like that. We got there late and it totally sucked cause we missed the Brothers and had to see Charlie Daniels and his square dancers instead.
I don't think the Allman Brothers Band played many other shows in Ohio during the 1979-1982 time period, cause I would have probably known about them. I'm not sure about Indiana. I saw Gregg's Band twice from 1983-1984 in Ohio, but both shows were indoors.
If you saw the Allman Brothers Band in 1989, you would have seen them with Warren Haynes- can you remember anything about who was in the band?

Nah, I'm pretty sure it was closer to the early 1980's.
The whole thing is weird. The various concerts and memories from my youth sort of all blend together to be sure. But I remember every single show I attended outside my home range (Illinois). There weren't that many, they were special trips.
Yet I have this single snippet of a memory, just a snapshot, me sitting on a hill looking down at the stage. It was more of a gully than a meadow. Sparsely attended. Warm summer day. That's it, that's all of it.
Maybe it was an alien abduction that scrambled my memory of it!

Not to mention the scourge of old age.

In that case, the Allman Brothers played Alpine Valley (southeastern WI) in 1981.

Thanks. Nope. I am very familiar with AV.

As the old saying goes: "If you can remember Woodstock you weren't there."

You are not talking about Legend Valley in Thornville,Ohio in summer of 81?
