Allman Brothers/Grateful Dead band and book talk in NYC May 7

The Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band will meet again - and on the Upper West Side, no less...
Well, sort of.
I am doing a joint event with David Browne, author of the great new book, So Many Roads: The Life and Times of the Grateful Dead at Book Culture, 450 Columbus Ave. We will be interviewing each other and discussing the similarities and differences in the legacies of these two great American institutions as well as our books. I hope you can join us.

He has also written biographies of Sonic Youth and Jeff and Tim Buckley as well as the Ebook Spirit of '76: From Politics to Technology, the Year America Went Rock & Roll.
WHAT: Allman Brothers/Grateful Dead book discussion and signing with me and David Browne
WHEN: Thursday, May 7, 7 PM
WHERE: Book Culture, 450 Columbus Ave, NYC.

Read a little bit of that Dead book online, it was excellent. Any chance this discussion gets streamed online?

A couple people asked me about that. Excellent idea. Not sure how to make it work.

Where's TaperRob when you need him?

set up your iphone on a tripod and record it and then upload it to youtube. or use a better quality camera and do the same. you could get fancy with multiple cameras and then edit it together. i'd try the 1st one though for a first time.
or use a laptop and an external hard drive since file storage is probably an issue with the iphone.

Thanks. all good ideas.
I knew I got the giant Iphone storage for a reason.

Thanks. Just watched some of Doug's episodes. Pretty funny... would be more interesting if they talked about something other than weed!

LOL, that's why you need to be there. you, doug and david talking The Dead and ABB and weed. what a great show!

I would do it in a minute if not for my kids. Not sure I want that out there.
Who knows a good NYC area taper who might be up for this?

Alan, see you at the Book Culture tomorrow evening. Looking forward to the event. Phil

Great. Thanks Phil.
Still looking for a taper!
