Thanks for the show. It's kind of crazy what a different beast this lineup was, especially during the Seven Turns/Shades period. They were HEAVY, even "Blue Sky" feels like it's wearing bigger shoes. I feel like they lightened up a little after 1994 since the Where It All Begins material was a little more jammy.

And what, almost an hour of encores?! Must have been something to see.

It's also always interesting to listen to Johnny Neel-era shows. Everyone knows he's an insanely good player, but definitely more Aquarium Rescue Unit than ABB.

At around the 50 minute mark listen to' It Ain't Over Yet' into 'Elizabeth Reed'. Reminds me of 79-81 when they were going from' Just Ain't Easy' into' Elizabeth Reed '. . Great stuff !

Saw the band 10 days before this for my first show. They definitely were not timid sounding! It was a big change from the sound they had left us with in 1982 (and even the 2 1986 reunion gigs). They got incrementally more old school / early '70s sounding in the next year or so after 1990, and focused more on the Hammond without Johnny in the band (and the addition of Marc brought a latin groove to the percussion wall).

On thing for sure was that there was no doubt the Allman Brothers were back in a big way when Seven Turns was released and they hit the road that summer!
