Got a txt yesterday that the band added dates for 2022. You can get tix using the password= TRIP22

https://www.allmanbettsband.com/tour/

I scored 4th row center seats for the New London, CT show for me and my wife and I am thinking about getting Tix for the Northampton, MA show.

Only cost $120 including fees so it is a great value to see a fantastic band IMHO. Already going to see them at the Allman Family Reunion concert at the Boston Orpheum next month but can't get enough of this band now the the ABB is done.

Anyone else grabbing tix? What show(s) will you be going to?

Got the notice about the Allman Family Revival concert. I don't keep up w/the family, but is there any reason Elijah Blue aka P. Exeter Blue isn't included?

The added dates are for the Allman Betts band and not the AFR shows. There will be special guests at the AFR concerts so maybe the Blue's will be invited?

Right, I got that they're 2 different shows, but he doesn't seemed to be involved in either. I just wondered if there was a rift or he plays different music or he just isn't interested.

@cyclone88 Devon, Duane Betts and Berry recently said they have good relationships with their extended family. As to Cher's son, they don't hear anything much from them but Cher did attend Gregg's funeral and the principals with Allman Betts Band got to say hi and she was friendly. Apparently Gregg was never able to get around Blue that much.

Of course there were many years Gregg had no contact with Devon. But when Gregg died Devon was surprised Gregg owned 42 guitars counting electric and acoustic and they ALL went to Devon.

@robertdee

Thanks. I knew Cher & EB both went to the funeral. I vaguely recall her saying she deliberately kept EB away from Gregg due to drugs as part of an interview where she said Gregg was the love of her life but his being a southern gentleman was offset by his doing heroin.

Hoping to catch them in maybe Kalamzaoo or Columbus.

Also hoping they play more than a 1 hour set each show

Since they are headlining I would expect a couple of hour show on the new dates. I saw them 3X as headliners in the past and every show was at least 2 hours long. Have you had past experience where they played short sets as the headliners?

@cyclone88  Yes in Gregg's final years he had good things to say about Cher and bad things to say about his long addiction to heroin and vodka. Just chasing the bag Gregg said is a big hassle. The Grateful Dead couldn't play in cities where Jerry Garcia didn't know where he could score a bag if he needed one.

The drug thing is what ruined Gregg's relationship with Cher. Cher just simply couldn't be part of it.

Gregg also in one of those interviews worried Dickey was not only going to sue the band but come after him personally.

@cyclone88 I think the Allman Family Revival is meant to be more Allman Brothers extended musical family, not just members of the Allman family. That's why it features Lamar Williams Jr, the Dickinson Bros, Jimmy Hall, and not Michael Allman or Elijah Blue (who was a metal head if I recall).

Yes I saw them with no openers in Wabash IN in the spring and then again with river kittens and maybe another act which I can’t recall this summer in CHI and they only did maybe 1:15 each time

@islalala, interesting as they played longer the times I have seen them. Maybe now that they have a few albums under their belt they will stretch the setlist out and play longer next year.

@porkchopbob

Got it. I thought EB had a metal band that folded about 5 years ago & haven't heard anything about him other than he married a hip hop/pop singer.
