I looked around a bit and didn't see any posts about this. Devon Allman announced to the crowd at the Levoy Theatre last night that he and Duane Betts have written a record of material during their tour, and that they will combine as the Allman Betts Band as of "next year".
They put on a very tasty performance.Some ABB covers, a Dead cover (Friend of the Devil), some Motown, and some of their own stuff.
That is great. It just feels like the right thing to do and I hope that album is smokin.
The Allman Betts Band is going to be famous. Probably will do a Beacon run in a year or too.
What are they waiting for?
I saw them at a festival show on Long Island, I really liked what I heard. They have the playing part down for sure and I hope they can write some good songs and maybe do a few non ABB covers.
