What albums did you buy based on the album cover alone? It did not matter if you like the music or not, just the cover.

I bought a Uriah Heep, Frank Zappa Wheasles Ripped my Flesh and Tim Wheisberg. I did buy Traffic's Low Spark and Shoot Out but I already liked them. The covers just added to music.

Iron Maiden with Piece Of Mind. I knew it was metal but had never heard them.

Eat a Peach and like the album so much I added cover to my calf with blazing sun smiling down.
Sun is similar to sun on the inside cover.

Bought a Jimmy Page album once based on an awesome cover. Famous Pic of Jimmy from about 75ish.

It was supposedly Jimmy backing Sonny Boy Williamson.

Not a single pic of Sonny Boy. Just a pic taken 10 years after the recordings on the album.

Could barely make out guitar at all and certainly didn't sound like Jimmy. The quality was bad.

But the cover rocked. I bought it at a drug store of all places for $2.99 mid to late 70s. Sold it to a collector I know in the 80s for an insane profit on a 3 dollar investment.

Then about 10-15 years ago, someone gave me a crate of albums. In the crate is the same album plus another similar one but this time Jimmy is playing a double neck and looks trashed. LOL

Other albums that I don't like the music but the covers are great. Ratt - the women on their covers are smokin'.

I remember another buddy when we were younger buying a Carly Simon albums because she had huge, hard nipples on the cover. Oh to be young.

Never got one for the album cover alone, but I did go out of my way and extra $ to get the import of Electric Ladyland.

Wait I did get that crummy Watkins Glen record out of the record store free bin, tossed the record and used the cover for a card to send my brother to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Watkins Glen.

Vertical Smiles by Blackfoot. If you were a 16 year old boy at the time you would understand why.

Actually, I had just seen them open for Deep Purple so I knew the name but didn't know anything about them.

Sounds like a logic similar to those Ratt album covers.

Had no knowledge of the topic at the time. In fact, sometimes, I wonder if I even do now. 😉

But I was old enough to know what they meant.
