That's Julan Coryell (Larry Coryell's son) on the left, my brother Jason Orme on the right. Maybe I'm prejudiced but I happen to think that Jason and Julian work their acoustics together quite beautifully and I've always felt that way. Oh, if you're wondering..........yeah, that's a BIG baby bump you see on Alanis. She's 7 months along with her third child. They are playing again tonight in San Diego, tomorrow night in Healdsburg, then she's taking an extended break.

This has always been one of my favorite Alanis tunes and of course it's one of her hits that was NOT on Jagged Little Pill..........it's on Under Rug Swept. She really is an amazing songwriter and to me this is a genius bit of writing because she interpreted a very volatile subject in such an emotive and classy fashion. Hands Clean..........."you've washed your hands clean of this". When she was 15 and a child star in Canada, her adult male Manager had an ongoing sexual relationship with her.

Just a beautiful 90 minutes of music. Opener Molly Kate Kestner, a solo act, was really incredible. She accompanies her amazing vocals on keyboards. She is the real deal, and like Alanis, writes all of her stuff.

It was always strange to me when I would see them together at bars/events as she was young. Wasn't exactly a secret. I know the singer that he dated/managed before Alanis.

I think your bro and the band take her to another level. Great stuff always.

Nice acoustic sound.

My comment isn't directed to you personally, but AM and the adults who knew what was going on make me angry about the failure to pursue legal action against her child sex abuser. As someone who works to eliminate the statute of limitations for children to sue their abusers decades later in the US, I hear story after story of children who WANT their abuser to be punished and can't because they waited or remembered too late. The law may be different in Canada and this song plus "You Oughta Know" may have been her only avenue of expression.

Still, she had no problem suing her business manager who stole $5mm from her & voicing her thoughts about his sentencing in 2016, but even now she refuses to name the man who stole her body.

The entire situation was a bit bizarre as was her life to a degree.

Started on a local kds TV show as a child.
Made a couple of dance records then dropped by the label.
Comes back Madonna signs her and she sells millions.

Experienced a lot. The actions should took later in life were because she was mature and has legal advice.

The stuff in her teens years is different for sure but everyone was aware including her family. She wasn't exactly suffering at least openly. She enjoyed the celebrity status also and the lifestyle that came along with it.

Won't get into their business any more than that on a forum. But I think sometimes others make it seem more relevant to her now then it likely is. As Rob says, she has kids and moved on.

Love that she has pretty much kept the band together. They are very tight and the two guitarists provide all the various shades/ elements in her music. From stunning acoustic arrangements to flat out heavy. I personally enjoy the band a bit more than her but it is a package.

There are a lot of possible reasons for her choosing not to pursue legal action against the guy. And I'm sure only Alanis knows. I have been in situations where I could have taken legal action against someone and never chose to.

One thing to remember, she became an international superstar at the tender age of 21 years old when Jagged Little Pill came out. If she had chosen to come out with these abuse charges after that, just think of how the publicity, the press and the pressure would have effected her. All those things would have added up to enormous stress. Hey I don't know, just because my brother is in her band doesn't make me privy to any inside information. But my guess is that Alanis thought about this long and hard and decided it wasn't worth it. I know you will say that these guys need to be caught and I respect you going after them. But then again, my guess would be that none of your clients are international superstars, either.

There's one other angle too: Maybe she had deep feelings for the guy and doesn't want to hurt him. Just a thought, and again, how would I know? But it certainly is a possibility.

Absolutely brilliant guitar work by both guys here. Great arrangement that constantly changes and progresses through the song.

The pedophile angle to R&R is complex as virtually every rocker that we grew up liking should be in prison. And it was all done in the open during the 70s on.

Jimmy Page and Lori Maddox were all over magazines when she was 14. And she had already "dated" Jagger and others.

Backstage I saw young girls trying to be women in every city.

Personally I would knock Page's head off his neck if he had touched my 14 year old. Apparently her parents were ok with her hanging out with hedonistic, drug addicted, alcohol swilling, S&M invading UK rockers.

Thanks again James. I am passing all of your compliments on to Jason. The fact that you are an accomplished guitarist yourself makes it hold even more weight.............

Rob, i have mentioned before, how i can just see and feel how much Alanis depends, counts on and trusts Your Brother musically. Haven't watched the video yet, will do with my wife, she a big fan, You all know that much to my chagrin, I can't make a musical note, and am an accomplished listener/show goer etc.......Peace.....joe

They could just strum chords and no one would complain. But they don't. Instead they come up with parts that intertwine around each other while occupying different ranges on the guitar. Really nice, inspired playing in my opinion.
