I saw something about this on line somewhere so I decided to check into it. Chuck Leavell, Johnny Sandlin, and others being inducted Friday February 26th at the Shoals Marriot in Florence, Alabama. I have been to several of the W.C. Handy Blues awards in Memphis so I figured this was similar. Boy was I mistaken! Tickets go on sale Monday the 22nd for the banquet and concert. Tables going for $5000, yes, three zeros, for 10 people or individual tickets for $125 and up depending on where you want to sit. It is also Black tie! Ahhh! I am a jeans and t -shirt kind of guy so I will need to hustle up an outfit, or rent a tux! Way different from the Handy awards where dress casual is the fare. Anyone else been to one of these? Or are you going to this one?
This should be an amazing evening of music. I am assured of an amazing music event from the people putting this event on. Wish me luck!
