The ABB doing the old blues covers is one of my favorite things ever.

I was watching a video of the ABB playing Charlotte in 2005 the other night. In the middle of "...School Girl", they go into "Spoonful" for about 5 minutes which included one verse sung by Gregg, two verses sung by Warren, and a solo from Derek. I was unaware that they had ever played "Spoonful" during the last lineup of the band. I don't recall seeing it on any setlists on this website, but the setlist for this particular show just has "...School Girl" listed.

Anyone know if they did this at any other shows or was this one totally unique?

I'm not aware if any line up doing Sooonful.

But Spoonful was the single The Allman Joys released on Dail Records about 1967. Years ago I found it in a bargain bin. About 1972. Gregg always said most of the pre ABB stuff was garbage but it's not bad and Duane is on it too. It didn't sell. Even after The Hourglass which did two albums on Liberty records that didnt sell either, Gregg and Duane were poor. Duane was just starting to make some money when he died. But man did he leave a legacy. Duane Allman is the top guitar player to ever be in the ABB and it was just 1969 to 1971. But most of the time when I heard ths band on the radio, it's a track with Duane on it.

3 times in the Live Show Database - 3/26/2006, 3/27/2007, and 3/25/2012. All at the Beacon.

On this site under "Events" - Select "Live Show Database". Tick the box that says "Search Setlists" and then fill in the search box (beside where it says Search ABB-base) with the exact title of the song you are looking for - and you are off to the races.
