Is there another musician of the modern music era (let's say post 1965) as great as Duane who is so under represented on video? There's not much Tommy Bolin on good video, but there's more Bolin than Duane. Who else is as criminally un filmed?

There's also a brief clip of Johnny Winter, who was also on the bill.....

I am surprised that Johnny Winter's sets from the March '71 Fillmore East shows haven't been released. For such a legendary run, it is strange the other acts were totally forgotten about. Unless they weren't recorded.

Seeing this I gotta ask if there is anyone in the ABB organization, such as it is these days, who assiduously works on developing and maintaining an archive. I know Kirk West did yeoman's work over many year's time, and Devorkaitis was in a position like this of some sorts in the wake of his departure, but curious if the museum now stands as the repository of all that is ABB now?

Really has become a mystery regarding this. After filmmaker Stave Rash allowed the Experience Hendrix people to use both Jimi's festival performance and supporting festival crowd footage with local background interviews (a la Woodstock) in the Electric Church film release, any reason to make a documentary of the remaining part of the festival seemed to have disappeared. So why not then use the Allman's footage any way possible? Could easily be combined with professionally shot footage from Fillmore East and Love Valley. Would take a professional to sting it all together. Maybe the powers that be should just hire the English production company that did both Song of the South and After the Crash. They do get the job done and are respectful of the artist.

according to something I've read, maybe Galadrielle's book, the film is actually done. It's being held up by legal issues

I have heard that also. Lots of rights issues from various performers. With the Electric Church DVD release that included festival background it seemed like Steve Rash had given up on the big project and was now going after getting at least the crown jewels released.
