65 years ago John Lennon and Paul McCartney met. We’re still feeling the seismic results of this event.

Yes it was at St. Peter's Church Hall in Woolten.

They wrote songs in the 1960's that to this day are still played millions of times each day. Lennon and McCartney songs have millions of views each on YouTube.  Those melodies are featured on orchestra instrumental music on elevators and lobbies in many places.

They certainly knew how to come up with one big hit after the other.

Here's a clip from about a month after they recorded "Love Me Do". Ringo had been in the group less than two months. George was 18. The place was packed, with little, if any, room to dance.

@jszfunk I think it's a much stronger song than "Love Me Do" or "P.S. I Love You" but John was adamant that their first EMI single had to be an original composition. Guess he was right! Cool

That footage is from the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool ... it is no longer there although there is a new "Cavern" just up the street from the old one ... my wife took this photo of me in front of the entrance to the cellar where the original club was ...

The two hour taxi tour in Liverpool is good for seeing the high points.

We recently were in Liverpool. Did the two hour tour; saw the childhood houses (Inside as well for John & Paul) saw a show at the new Cavern.

I think the highlight of the tour was visiting the Casbah Club (Mona Best's old house/club) where Roag Best Jr led the tour. The decorations on the ceilings were done by the lads over 60 years ago. Carved in graffiti by John in two places. Amazing tour
