60 Minutes' Morley Safer dies at 84
He was a Ferrari owner, and I still remember this story:
Well they say people should love what they do (work) because they will spend a lot of time doing it. I saw the special on 60 minutes about the life of Morley Safer and he truly loved being a journalist and going on the road and travelling all over. He lived his legacy and it doesn't get any better than that.

Wow , I just watched that episode last Sunday , he just retired .
RIP
Scary really. Retired last week. Makes you wonder. Really enjoyed his 60 minutes pieces. Not too many Journalists left .
I watched that Countach story on youtube. Great stuff.
I get the impression the failing health caused his abrupt retirement, especially since his comments on retirement were by written statement and nothing on video. Not that he chose to retire and then up & died before he had a chance to enjoy his retirement. Interwebs rumors of a recent stroke, but the CBS statements indicated he drastically cut back on his work load due to declining health over the past several months. A few alleged quotes today, purportedly from his widow, that the cause of death was pneumonia.
Sad for sure, but glad he had the chance to 'work' doing what he enjoyed right up close to the very end.
