No Lamar Williams. Just not my kind of singer. Mr.Dickey Betts and Jack p along with the other guys. Dickey come out for an encore of liz reed, blue sky and Back where it all begins.

I'm thinking its pretty damn sweet just the way it is. Once you start adding then where do you stop and you start inviting different folks out on the stage for a song or two. Tough on quality control. Having said that I have been fortunate to hear Bill Evans play with ABB at United Palace Theater NYC, Tower Theater in Philly and with Butch and Les Bres at Peachfest. His sax is a sweet addition to songs like Dreams, and Liz Reed. Otherwise lets just sit (or stand) back and watch Derek and Warren rip it up.

In a perfect world other short timers like David “Rook” Goldflies & Johnny Neel could be accommodated - but all this could go on and on too - you know March 10 will be Some Kinda Show Cool

I hope Dickey Betts will be able to come after all. Otiel said Dickey was contacted right off but is unable to fly now. Dickey probably isn't able to play. But maybe he could be the guest of honor if he is able to fly. Dickey Betts is HUGE to the Allman Brothers legacy. Just as big as Gregg and Duane and bigger than any musician on that stage in March including Jaimoe. No doubt they will play many of the songs Dickey wrote for the band.

Yes I read Otiel's interview and he is all in for Larmar Williams, Jr to sing. As we know Lamar Williams Sr. was the Allman Brothers bass player from 1972 to 1976.

Berry Oakley>>Lamar Williams >>David Goldflies>>Allen Woody>>Otiel Burbridge.

BTW the Allman Brothers played two shows in 1986 with no official bass player. Dickey's bass player McCoy played on Dickey's sings and Bruce Waibel played on the rest. Bruce was in Gregg's band at the time.

The rest if the 1986 lineup was Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Chuck Leavell, Dan Toler, Butch Trucks and Jaimoe.

Ironically, one of those two shows, the Crack Benefit IIRC, was at MSG - this show will be just as amazing - good point on Dickey, it’d only be right for him to be there if he was so inclined & his schedule permitted it

That is correct. I forgot about the location. They played as the Allman Brothers as a favor to Bill Graham at MSG. And the other show was in Nashville as a favor to Charlie Daniels.

Also it was easy to do those two shows as Dickey and Gregg had been playing together on the club circuit all year. Dickey would open then Gregg would play then Gregg and Dickey would play a third get together. All they needed to do was add Jaimoe and Butch. Dan Toler was in Gregg's band then and Chuck was in Dickey's. David Toler was Gregg's drummer. I can't remember who was Dickey's but I saw one show at a good size club in Winston Salem, North Carolina and the club owner billed it as The Allman Brothers Band on posters, the club marque, newspaper and radio spots. I was there when Gregg came in and complained to the club owner. Then when Dickey came on Dickey said " We didn't have anything to do with this billing so don't get mad at us. Butch Trucks and Jaimoe aren't here tonight so we don't call this the Allman Brothers."

If it's not Warren handling the Gregg vocals, along with his own and the Dickey vocals, then it will be Susan Tedeschi handling the Gregg vocals, or at least some of them with Warren doing some. I love Lamar, Jr.'s vocals, but I don't see them having him handle these for the MSG crowd. Susan Tedeschi makes more sense and I can see her doing it.

I didn't see Susan as a mention, but perhaps. I was at the MSG show in 1986, what a cool show. If I remember correctly they had some interesting guests play with them. It was exciting because nobody had seen the ABB together for years

If there were only 3 guests, I'd vote for Lamar Williams & Junior Mac...they both do the Gregg vocals serious justice. And of course Jack Pearson, who could sing Dimples, and play with the guys and fit in seamlessly on anything they do.

Susan would add some fireworks to Stand Back or a verse of Whipping Post if I got my 4th guest.

And we'll probably hear Chuck sing half of Statesboro Blues is my guess.

The entire Gregg & Dickey catalogue can be sung well by Warren but it would add some variety to have guests on a few songs.

I like Warren but Lamar is much closer to Gregg in imo.
