Going to see Davy Knowles in Pittsburgh in a couple weeks. Haven't seen him in probably 5 years. Interested to see how he is. Was a big fan of the first Back Door Slam album. The follow ups have been uneven.

Lionel Ritchie (and Mariah Carey) in PIT in March.

That's it so far.

Was thinking about Tedeschi/ Trucks and Drive By Truckers in Chicago. But the prices are kind of nuts. The Drive By Truckers are only $30 each. VERY affordable. Out the door for a pair? $87.06. TTB? $109 each now? Really Derek?

The Drive By bill is funny but sad.

Service Fee

Order Fee

Amusement Tax Fee.

Really?

The TTB are ever worse $306.17 out the door for a pair.

Has anyone been to the Gov't Mule Island Exodus?
I've beed to Panic in the Domican, and it was great. Hoping the mule trip is just as good.

Agerst, that is a staggering list. Sang, you have good taste!!

I'll be seeing Steve Hackett in February, and Green Day in March. I'm hoping to catch The Musical Box in March as well.

I agree, I often get shocked by some of the TTB prices but you gotta remember Derek has 12 people to pay..

My lonesome list.....
March TTB @ Ryman, the Friday Show, Lowers Row J

Trying to talk the wife into TTB with J. Pearson in Knoxville in January, always wanted to see Jack.

Keep in mind, the band does not set the ticket prices. The band contracts for
a set price. The promoter then determines the cost of a ticket. The size of the venue,
time of the week, market, etc.. are what a promoter needs to factor in when coming up
with a price.

I went to the 2014 version, at the old resort.

Obviously, if you are a Mule/Warren Haynes fan it doesn't get any better!!!

Have fun!

Very true. However, they chose this. Met the two of them and very nice people. Do you really need that many people? Their choice.

IMO they don't need that many people. The two backup singers aren't really in the band. Some gospel song.

Yeah, I am fortunate and I know it. I retired two years ago ( I was an Assistant Principal in the NYC school system) and I travel to see shows and baseball along with wrestling. I am doubly fortunate to have a wife who allows me to do it as she is still working and is not retiring until July. She is a school teacher so when she is off we go to places she wants to go to. But I love live music and get to at least one show a week.

As I wrote, I booked a trip to Nashville in January to see the Drive By Truckers at the Ryman and the Last Waltz show was announced months later and is the day before. I would have loved to have seen it but the cost to do it does not make sense. I saw the Mule in Montreal in October and really want to see them again but already had a show on 12/30. The New Years Eve show is out as we never go out on New Years Eve. I might get rid of the ticket for the other show and just go see the Mule at the Beacon.

So the band's demands do influence the ticket price to a great extent.

I really enjoy seeing Susan and Derek, but my ability to buy tickets isn't unlimited. I often cut TTB out of my concert list due to the cost.

Venues are a huge factor in ticket prices as well. The Chicago Theatre is nice, but IO often avoid shows there for less expensive alternatives.

Yes they do. I love what they are doing, and Mark, Alecia, and Mike take leads all the time. Plus Mike contributes a lot of songwriting, it sounds like it's quite a collective. There are so many layers to that band, the ticket is always worth it to me. But hey, you can always choose not to go.

I'll be at Sunshine Blues Fest in Boca in January and Wanee in April. Going to skip Warren's Last Waltz Show - the addition of Michael McDonald kills that one for me (he singing "Dry Your Eyes"?). Even as a huge fan of The Band, a night of Warren covering them doesn't interest me that much. Unless he wears a tiny purple leisure suit and high kicks. That I would pay to see.

Tough with two little kids but wife and I are very excited about TTB with NMAS opening on 1/25. At some point this year, Wilco will probably make their way back to St. Louis so I'm sure we'll catch them again. Would very much like to see Les Brers. Butch and the Freight Train band are coming to StL and I might catch that one. Was disappointed Dead and Co are not making it back here this year. When the boys are older I'll get back to travelling to shows but right now unless it's in my backyard it's tough.

Not 2017 but I see Butchie's band Dec. 30

Someone mentioned Dan Baird above, thanks ! I now have him on my 2017 radar and see one or two possibilities to look into.

NMAS is always on my radar, saw them on The Wheels of Soul tour this year but all that did was make me want to see them on their own, not as an opener.
