Damn. Its about this time that I'm jazzed up with anticipation for the Beacon Run. The reality will hit in March when it really isn't happening.
That said, I do want to go to NYC to see some shows in March to ease the pain and maybe start a new tradition. Here is a list of who's playing so far:

interestingly, there are only 2 performances at the Beacon this March.
Maybe we can borrow the know-how from GABBA and start NYCABBA, rent the Beacon March 2016 and put on a show (GAB, Jaimoe Jazzz Band, etc.)

Some interesting stuff; but this is the musical equivalent of someone saying "I know you and Angelina Jolie rented a hotel room for tonight; she can't make it but my sister Lucille can."

tickets for the Sherman Theater show are $35. Granted they are GA, but you can't get into a parking lot near the Beacon for that kind of money.
... and if you stay West of the Hudson, you can see Aretha Franklin at NJ PAC on March 14th.
You don't have Jaimoe's Jassz Band on here. He's playing Brooklyn Bowl on 3/1. Alan Paul is doing a book signing that night too.

I was just looking the other day for shows for the same reason,gonna have that March itch and need to find something to do .
My concert year is beginning slow but picks up in February with Arlo Guthrie, 2 TTB shows, and Stanley Clarke.
March kicks off with Gaelic Storm followed by Sco Mule then Steve Kimock paying tribute to Jerry Garcia.
In May I have tickets for Brit Floyd and John Mellencamp.
I'm sure to add more as shows are announced.
It would be sad for me to visit NYC in March now, particularly the Upper West Side. I'm not sure I'll ever visit there without feeling nostalgic with fond memories and some sadness.
That said, some other month of the year, I'd love to come into town and see some live music!

Please add Danielle Nicole (fromTrampled Under Foot) to the list of March shows. March 13th, shows at 8:30 and 10:30 at The Iridium (51 Street & Broadway), my favorite NYC live music venue. Tickets are $25 and there is a $15 minimum.

tclawrence - Danielle's brother Nick is an old friend of mine. He and his band Killin Floor played at my college graduation party in the late 90s. Nick can friggin crush on the guitar.
derek trucks sat in with killin floor either at the jersey shore or at the jam on the river in philly. would love to get a tape of that.
