We had those strong winds Thursday ahead of a cold front. Decent day today and pleasant until end of the week, nasty after that.

Spent 3 days vacuuming and shredding leaves.  They now cover my garden.   Golf tomorrow and Thursday, may be the last of the year ...

I have a very large oak in the backyard and when it drops its leaves they all seem to go within a day or two. It's in full "drop mode" recently, worked over the weekend to get the bulk of them gathered up. Thankfully much nicer weather than we'll have starting later this week.

Happy Thursgay. Beautiful day in Chicago. Sunny and 75 degrees. I guess next it is supposed to be in the 30s for like two weeks. Yikes!

Luckily, I won a Goose Island Bourbon County Stout Chicagoland Select Allocation - 2 regular, and 1 each of all the flavors, including the Chicagoland only Proprietors version.  By winning I get to spend $230 (with tax) for the allocation.  Won it also in 2021 - still all in the box - kinda waiting to see if my taste comes back ...

When I was just out of high school I worked in a grocery store and we actually sold that. Or something similar. Same can. A colleague told me it was made by Falstaff, Black Label, Olympia, something like that. It was just called generic beer.

Tried one in the back delivery room. I do not recommend it.

I know the Falstaff brewery (long ago closed) in Omaha made it. It was just Falstaff in a generically labeled can. There was also a "Light Beer" made.

Incredibly bad swill.
