I might have to get out some ABB vinyl. I bought the 4/7/72 Manley Field House Syracuse Record Store Day release, but I haven't listened to it yet.

Did you ever watch any of those videos I sent you a while back?

Hiya coot! I thought I posted this; perhaps not. My computer wouldn't play the shows you sent. It worked fine with the audio, just not video.

Weird. so you at least could hear the shows but not see them?

Sorry, guess I wasn't clear. Your DVDs would not play at all. Your taped CDs were fine. That's what I meant; CDs fine. DVDs not fine.

You ought to get a free standing cheap dvd player. They're around $25 and those shows are all really good, particularly the Little Ed.

I have a free-standing CD player. Same thing I believe. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work. The CD player should play DVDs. There are no disc drives on my computers.  Do they even make computers with them? I don't know.

Actually it is the opposite - DVD players can usually play cd's, but cd players do not play dvd's ...

No unless the player has dvd capabilities, a cd player won't play anything other than cds. Same for cars etc, putting a dvd into a cd player will not work. Newer cars (regretfully) don't even have cd players anymore. Fighting

Yep, Boddingtons is a nice brew, Lee ... but we don't tend to get it much around my way as it is a brewery in Manchester in the North-West of England and I live in the East ... but I do make a point of supping a few when visiting friends in that region.

That really pi$$es me off too ... remaining life is too short for me to transfer all my music onto those new fangled whatsits ... I just hum and whistle and annoy the misses instead

All of my vehicles are in really good running condition etc but having the cd player will mean I'll hang onto them longer, to play the music I want to hear on road trips!

Thanks for the advice on the CD/DVD changer thing. I'll get a DVD player. Question: Can I download a DVD show to my computer? I can do it for a CD.

Regarding the car thing, I haven't owned a car since I moved to Chicago, 20 years ago. But at the time, I had a new Jeep and I installed a CD changer in the "trunk" of it. 5 discs. There was this thing I used to move it from one disc to another from the driver's seat. I don't recall if I had to put an actual disc into anything from the seat.

In case nobody knows, CDs are ancient technology. Sadly.

many new cars come with a mini aux input, if so, that aux input ( with a cord, of course ) can be plugged into headphone jack of a portable cd player........

My town is having a 3-day 'Taste of' - food from local restaurants and a bunch of bands.  Last night was an ABBA tribute and then 16 Candles - one of the better 80's show bands - they are a lot of fun.  Tonight the headliners were the 2nd lead singers of Chicago and Boston.  The Chicago guy played an hour and was fabulous - the horns were great. Then Tommy DeCastro from Boston played for an hour - also great.  Tomorrow night is a Queen tribute band that I saw 2 years ago - they are also really good.  My wife flew to Seattle today and will be gone 5 days - so I might as well go hear some free music ...

Good to be back Sang.

Looking forward to taking some trips soon. Seems NY is calling my name..... Cooperstown with a nefarious character from here and Niagara Falls later in the fall.

I just got rid of my 2017 Kia Sorrento. Last car I had to have a CD player. Used the hell out of that thing. Played a ton of my bootlegs. Now I have the Nugs app to play my ABB music.

Seems next year I will be using the most of my 7 weeks time off from Siemens.... A week in Key West, 2 week trip to Europe via cruise (Iceland, Norway, Scotland, and England). Also going to see the mouse in FL I stole those fuzzy slippers from a long time ago.

Close to 7 weeks? Well, I'm sure they will be happy to hear that you will be gone for a while. Wink

You should try to include Chicago on your list. They reopened that Irish bar we took you to downtown. Razz

Sounds like some great trips!

If those fuzzy slippers still exist they'd probably qualify as an EPA Superfund cleanup site! Amazed

Miserably warm today with the heat index above 105, been giving the sprinkler system a workout the last several days.
