Good Monday morning. Just back from Michigan yesterday. Another long weekend. Probably go back again this coming weekend.

How's your ma?

Thanks for asking. I really appreciate it.

My brother called this morning and asked me what I wanted from her house. I knew what was coming next. So I guess a day or two is it. This just all happened so fast. Probably for the best I suppose.

I think I'll go back within the next few days.

Watched the first 7 or 8 Mule songs from the Lockn livestream.

Shut it off, disliked it so much. Was contemplating buying their new release, they saved me some dough. They played a handful and I didn't even mildly like one. Just too whiny and just no real flow to any of them.

I like Mule, but last night just did nothing for me.

Was disappointed I missed them in Omaha several weeks ago, but not now if it was anything like last evening.

This was the show with Ann Wilson joining the band ?

I did not watch the stream, but thought I might try to locate a recording of that show, thought having her sing would be cool - but you are saying no ?

I have listened to their new CD a couple of times now, I like it.

Yes, that's the one. Just couldn't make it that far.

My level of interest has steadily flagged since Woody died. I really liked the New School shows I saw with Chuck and Dave Schools and I saw a show in Knoxville with George Porter, Jr. that was really good, but it seems that the real meat of the music left with Woody. I have that show from Atl that Chris Robinson and Marc Ford (both noticeably effed up) showed up at the end (and thanks, Coot!). It absolutely smokes. Woody was such a monster. And, it seems that Warren was really driven in that original line-up. I got to see them a few times as the trio, too. One time, I was standing in front of Woody's rig and I had to move. It was so loud, it was uncomfortable. A small club venue, weren't 200 people in the place and they just tore it down.

Regarding Mule, I think we all miss Woody. Jorgen sounds as much similar to him to me.

I echo others sentiments Lee. Can't imagine.

My Mom turns 84 next month, visiting her in a few weeks, but living thousands of miles away is tough for me, but been like that for 30+ years.

Life is F'd up sometimes.

Dug out and going to watch tomorrow night the ABB video from their Lincoln show 8/31/12. The last time I saw the band.

Sang, SlimZimm and Kitty were all there. 😊

Will no doubt be very bittersweet seeing Gregg and Butch up on stage. I think Brian Farmer was Warren's guitar tech then too.

A reminder to enjoy every day, tomorrow is not a guarantee.

Listened to an old ABB show today. '71 I think. Kind of music for the soul.

Morning.

Not an all encompassing NCAAF follower/fan like some of you, but - outside of the Buckeyes opener tonight, who wouldn't want to pay attention to 'bama vs FSU Saturday night?

Also, a semi big sounding lineup, that team up north vs Florida.

Love these early season big matchups !

BTW, the Buckeyes have Oklahoma week 2.

Meyer grew up in my old hometown, I'm a few years older than him and did not know him. He attended a neighboring catholic high school, a few of my old buddies knew him from Little League.

Having said that, you are indeed entitled to your sentiments, ha - I certainly heard enough of it when I lived in Jacksonville after he departed UF the way he did.

This will be controversial and may get me banned :

To be honest, what drew me to The Allman Brothers Band was the songs and the guitars.

Gregg's voice most certainly played a major part in the appeal for me.

During epic shows, when he comes back in - 'I sat down {long pause} and wrote you a long letter' - man, makes my spine tingle.

Or - after a mind numbing guitar solo - 'my friends tell me, that I've been such a fool.'

BUT, I have to be honest, Low Country Blues did nothing for me the thought of listening to Southern Blood, knowing he was sick and dying while recording, therefore making me all melancholy, not a pleasant thought.

I am not sure I will even obtain the latest.

I have Warren Zevon's last CD, same thing, I really don't want to listen to it anymore.

Not music attributed to a dying artist, but a buddy of mine used to say about Roger Waters solo CD's - "makes me want to kill myself after listening, too depressing."

That classless sumbitch was up 49-20 on UT in the 4th quarter and the final score was 59-20. Which means he kicked a field goal up by more than 4 touchdowns. Eff him.

Gregg's work with the original 6 was epic and his Laid Back album is one of my favorite all time albums (LAFE being #1). Stormy Monday from LAFE makes my spine tingle... I'll listen to it for sure, how much, I don't know.

I listened to the Southern Blood stream from NPR today. A few tough moments but it's real tasteful.

A Song For Adam, where he gets choked up, will cut you

I'm sure some late fall night I'll be outside, sipping and listening to SB and end up crying like a fucking baby
