I seen a lot of posts hear talking up Jason Isbell.

Have meant to give him a listen but haven't yet purchased any releases.

Any recommendations?

A friend suggested Southeastern and Live From Alabama and both are great. In December I bought all his other releases and now have the latest. I love it all. Dude doesn't write a bad song.

True. All his material is phenomenal. His live shows are fantastic, too. He has given me something new to follow since the ABB has called it quits. Don't get me wrong, I still listen to a lot of ABB, but Jason has really caught my attention.

I honestly thank Woods and my friend Alex Lawson for promoting Jason to me.

Jason, Gregg and Chris Robinson are the only songwriters that I "damn I wished I'd wrote that song"

Regarding Isbell, he is playing The Chicago Theatre this Friday if anyone needs a nice weekend getaway. Tickets still available.

Watched the first 7 or 8 Mule songs from the Lockn livestream.

Shut it off, disliked it so much. Was contemplating buying their new release, they saved me some dough. They played a handful and I didn't even mildly like one. Just too whiny and just no real flow to any of them.

I like Mule, but last night just did nothing for me.

Was disappointed I missed them in Omaha several weeks ago, but not now if it was anything like last evening.

Just got back from a nice golf tip to a resort in Wisconsin. I drove one of my friends there. I was about 1 mile from his house on the way back when the transmission went out on my car. I was able to pull into a parking lot. Need to get it towed tomorrow and start looking at new cars........ Mad

This was the show with Ann Wilson joining the band ?

I did not watch the stream, but thought I might try to locate a recording of that show, thought having her sing would be cool - but you are saying no ?

I have listened to their new CD a couple of times now, I like it.

How many miles on it? You don't think it is repairable?

109,000. It's a 2010. The tow truck driver didn't think it was the transmission, maybe just a sensor. Since the mechanics at my dealer have been on strike for over a month, I took the car to a place to diagnose the problem to see if it is the trans. If so, I will trade it in - if not I will probably pay to get it fixed......

Guess I might have to go back to Michigan again this weekend. Might fly again. Forgot how much of a pain that is.

Especially when you have a surgically repaired shoulder. Sets off the alarm.

Regarding cars, I could have had my mom's but THB vetoed that. Had a spot and everything. Guess we don't need the expense. Costs a small fortune to have a car in Chicago.

Yeah, you're kind of at a point where you have a 7 year old vehicle and if you put a whole lot more miles on it, you'll not have any trade in value. So, it's either run it till it dies or trade it in. On the other hand, 109k is not a lot of miles on cars these days. You should be able to get 200k out of about any car now.

I put 400k on a '97 F150. It was pretty well used up by then. 😛

It would be near impossible for me to live without a car. But I don't live close to all the amenities of city dwelling. And, we don't have near the public transportation systems that large cities have.

Yes, that's the one. Just couldn't make it that far.
