Went to see a band at a community fest yesterday - after 45 minutes they said a storm was coming, go to your cars. It rained like hell for 15 minutes and then quit. We decided to just leave - and it took us more than half an hour to get out of the parking lot - damn old people that don't know how to drive.... 
Saw Jason Isbell in Cincinnati Saturday night. Superb show. Did Whipping Post for an encore.
He is undoubtedly my favorite touring performer at this point in time. Great tunes and a smoking hot band, especially when his wife, Amanda Shires, is with them. His guitar player is Sadler Vaden and he is a great player. Jason is a great guitarist in his own right.
I can't wait for the Charleston show.
Everything he does is great. Tupelo and Anxiety are two good ones from the new cd.

Same with Tinsley love. We saw him a few months back in Richmond with EasyMichael. There was some audience participation -some guy thought he would pull out a harp and start playing along. Tinsley made it known it was not appreciated. Ha.

I may play golf with my parents who are currently visiting from FL. I am definitely not ladies PGA caliber. I consider it a victory just connecting with the ball sitting on the tee. After that, who counts?

Well, I needed a nice, fun weekend and I got it!
Dead & Company put on two great shows. Oteil really shined, and sang more than expected. This band sounds like one, not just a project. I really hope they keep playing
It was also a nice chance to visit with some friends from near and far. My friends had their camper van parked at a friend's driveway on seminary, a half block from Wrigley, and it became more than just a place to drink beers under the $10 mark.
Went to a great aftershow as well.
Joe Marcinek (local guy that played at Wanee this year) played two hours of funk with Ivan Neville and Tony Hall from Dumpstaphunk, the drummer from Soulive, and a horn section. Covers included Midnight Rider, Dreams, Shakedown Street, Down by the River, and Boys of Summer.

Off to the dentist in a bit. I am actually looking forward to going to the dentist. Who says that? But I haven't eaten solid food in a week.

In 1 month my oldest graduates from UCF, a mere 6 or so years out of high school, ha.
Looking forward to a sizable raise in my paycheck, of which will be immediately allocated in various different directions.
The art museum in town has concerts during the summer. Going to check it out tonight
Ben Harper is playing The Taste of Chicago Friday. I really hate that event but you have to buy tickets for the show so it might not be that bad as the freeloaders won't be there. And that is the only thing we will go for.
It's in the pavilion where the headliners for The Blues Fest used to perform.
Think the last time I was there I saw Johnny Winter & James Cotton.
