The Allman Brothers Band

Peach-O-Gram for August 24, 2005

Hey there sweet family,

We’re back from the beach and while we recover from our sunburns (OK, Lana swears hers is pure tan), the news keeps coming. Blake sent us the Fall Derek Trucks Band tour dates including great news for the European extended family … three dates in The Netherlands and three in Germany. Hoo-Euro-ray!!! Now you can tell us to come over there to hear the music for a change. And, back in the States, our HTW friend Sully (Chris Sullivan) is helping to organize a Derek Trucks Band concert to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey on November 22 in New Brunswick, NJ. Sully wants to offer the Peach Corps a pre-sale — with a discount! Thanks to Sully, you can support a great cause, be transported by that incomparable DTB music, buy tickets ahead of the crowd, and save $10 to $15 a ticket while you’re at it — now that’s the whole package! Next he’ll be telling us that a portion of the ticket price is tax-deductible too. It is?? Stop, you’re killing us!

The special Peach Corps pre-sale starts this Friday, August 26, at 10AM. The link to buy tickets during the pre-sale is:

http://www.dtbtickets.musictoday.com

and the link for the event itself is:
http://www.statetheatrenj.org/show.cfm?eventid=1087

The general on-sale is September 9 at 10AM, so you’re really getting a jump on things with this August 26 pre-sale.

OK, we’re calming down for a second — but not for long — here are all the other Fall Derek Trucks Band dates, including a performance with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra (hey, let’s all meet at the Green House after the show, OK?):

And if all the above is not enough, mark your New Year’s Eve calendar for Atlanta — there just might be a DTB sighting there too! Stay tuned…

From the DTB to the Midnight Rider — Savannah Magazine includes a terrific article (and pix) about Gregg & Stacey’s new home. For information on where to pick up a copy go to the Savannah Magazine website at http://www.savannahmagazine.com.

Our email server caught a cold (well, OK, a virus) and we’re not sure you all got the last Peach-O-Gram so a quick repeat — Oteil and the Peacemakers are releasing what Oteil says is their best album ever, “Believer,” in late September — but our Peachy family can hear a free MP3 from the album -and- order it now at http://www.oteilburbridge.com. Thanks Oteil!

The ABB has listened to your requests and reprinted a number of out-of-print ABB live recordings — the 2004 Fox Theatre run, Kirk West’s choice of the six best 2004 shows, “West’s Best,” and for the first time, the 2005 Wannee festival performances! You can order these at:
http://www.hittinthenote.com/cart/c-44-abb-instant-live-cds.aspx?ref=HTW

American University, 12-13-70, has been reprinted and you can order it at:
http://www.hittinthenote.com/cart/c-50-abb-archival-cds.aspx?ref=HTW

These are all small quantity runs and there’s no guarantee they will ever be printed again. For those of you who write us asking which live shows to get — you have your answer — these are excellent ones! Enjoy.

People can you feel it? Great music is in the Autumn air. Hope to see you at a show soon!

Take care and know that you are loved,
Rowland and Lana
