The Allman Brothers Band

Peach-O-Gram for August 19, 2005

Hey there sweet family,

We are enjoying North Carolina’s beautiful Topsail Island beach, but Peach Goes On. So here we are with lots and lots of news to share. Pull up a virtual lawn chair and get ready to dive into summer reading that includes:

* An Allman Brothers Band tour update
* Joyous news from Oteil 2 U
* Fun shopping ops from the Hittin’ the Note fam’ — the return of the Fox Box, West’s Best and American University ABB shows
* A chance to win Front Row, yes, Front Row, tix to the Allman Brothers Band show *you* are attending

Summer may be winding down, but the Allman Brothers Band are still heating things up, hitting the road to dates previously and (yay!) newly announced. You can see the entire tour schedule on the home page at www.allmanbrothersband.com — and in minute, we will be adding good news for anyone within a day’s drive of Knoxville, TN and Charlottesville, VA — two more shows for this leg of the tour:

September 27, 2005 Municipal Auditorium Knoxville, TN
September 28, 2005 Charlottesville Pavilion, Charlottesville, VA

See you at the shows!

And now, here’s fabulous news from the O-Zone! Oteil and the Peacemakers are about to release what Oteil happily says is their best album ever!

“Believer” features more that 60 minutes of jazzy, funky jams by Oteil and his band mates Chris Fryar, Paul Henson, Mark Kimbrell and Matt Slocum. Long-time ARU fans will remember Oteil as a founding member of that band, and Paul as the lead singer on the last two ARU CD’s.

The album will not be in stores until late September or early October, but you can own it now by going to www.oteilburbridge.com Check out the free mp3 from the album also on Oteil’s home page and drop by the guest book to let the band know what you think.

Oteil especially wanted us to let everyone know about his upcoming tour dates. He’s particularly excited about The Sweet Soul Revival Tour, on which Oteil and the Peacemakers will be joined by sacred steel sensations The Lee Boys. Have mercy! That’s a lineup guaranteed to get your feet *and* heart thumpin’! Here’s the tour schdule as it stands now. For updates, check out www.oteilburbridge.com as the schedule there will be updated regularly.

Going to an ABB show this summer? Got a craving to sit in the front row?! Stop by the Hittin’ the Note magazine tent at the venue (usually near a merchandise stand) and sign up or renew your subscription to the magazine and be entered into a raffle for front row tickets that night! The raffle drawing will occur at the HTN tent about 30 minutes before the Brothers come on to play. You must be present to win. Raffles will not occur at State Fairs or General Admission shows. Good luck!!!

Take care and know that you are loved … and we’ve typed this entire thing wearing only sunscreen (and swimsuits),
