First the give … A group of lovely people have banded together to form the The Big House Foundation – established to preserve the home and history of the Allman Brothers Band by securing the Big House and its vast memorabilia collection indefinitely. I know this is a project close to many of your hearts as “Save the Big House” has been an ongoing cry in the ABB Forum for ages. So, whoo hooody hoooo! Your voice has been heard! Give it up for the Big House Foundation! (thunderous applause erupts behind computers all over the world!)

Now to the get … get going to http://www.aquariumrescueunit.com and be prepared to be slap happy stunned. Col Bruce Hampton (ret.) and the Aquarium Rescue Unit, Jimmy Herring, Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Sipe (aka Apt Q-258), are reuniting for three gigs! The first two are:

October 20 The Georgia Theatre, Athens, GA
October 22 Magnolia Music Festival, Live Oak, FL

The third is huge fun – ARU is headlining Jam Cruise 3, sailing aboard Carnival’s Celebration January 6 – 10, 2005 from Jacksonville, FL to Freeport, Bahamas and back.
