The Allman Brothers Band

Newsletter: DuaneAllman.com, Tedeschi Trucks Band Party and Gregory Rally-O-Gram 2011 0608

Hey there sweet family,

We have had the honor and privilege of working with Galadrielle Allman over the past couple of months to launch a website tribute to her father. We are not trying to create the definitive archive as www.duaneallman.info is already doing that. Galadrielle’s vision is rather to have a respectful, low key but loving spot on the web where fans, friends and family can spend a little time and share a smile or loving thought. Galadrielle had a very definite vision and direction for the look and feel of the site, she said she has been thinking about it for years. Doug Brown did his usual web graphics magic and Rowland swung the hammer… it’s been one of our “gee we really should do this” things since putting up the first allmanbrothersband.com site, and we give Michael Lehman, Gregg’s manager, credit for putting it all in focus and getting us moving!

We have a site up and running and welcome your feedback as well as Duane stories, photos and memorabilia to add to the site which will build over time. Please visit www.duaneallman.com and email webmaster at duaneallman.com or send an email to lana@tourstar.net with your input. Thank you kindly!

A reminder that The Tedeschi Trucks Band is appearing Sunday June 12, 7:30 p.m., at the gorgeous Durham Performing Arts Center in Durham, NC. In honor of the concert, DPAC is hosting a Peach Corps pre-party in a private section of the orchestra seating lobby beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 12 – one hour before show time. A “Peach Corps” sign will let you know you’ve found the right place! Complimentary soft drinks and water will be served, and a cash bar will be available.

We’ll have a PA to play our own music –so bring your favorite CD!

Everyone who attends the party will be entered in a drawing to win a Pair of 3rd Row Seats as a grand prize! Not that there’s a bad seat at the Durham Performing Arts Center, but nice upgrade!! A big “Thank you!” to our friends at DPAC for making this possible!

Additionally, everyone who attends the party and wears a peach lei, peach flower, or some other type of summery peach paraphernalia will be entered into a drawing to win a limited edition, numbered, Allman Brothers Band Beacon 2011 poster. A big “Thank you!” to the Allman Brothers Band for making this possible.

Please note, you *must* have a ticket to the concert to come to the party. Other than that, simply print this message, or the accompanying Peach-O-Gram, out and show it to whoever is working the ropes to get in.

If you’re planning to attend the party, please consider dropping us a line so we can give DPAC a notion of how many soft drinks, water, etc. to have on hand. Merci!!

The fine folks at Rounder Records have created another Gregg Allman/Low Country Blues sticker (different than the one used earlier this year) and are still looking for helpers to pass them out at upcoming bike rallies. Rounder is looking for 3 -4 volunteers per rally, and will send the stickers directly to each volunteer.

If you’re planning on going to any of the rallies listed below and would like to lend a hand, please send your name, street address, email addy, phone number and name of the rally to: lana@tourstar.net
Please use “Rally” as the subject line.

As compensation you’ll receive a free ticket to a future Gregg Allman show of your choice and a vinyl copy of the Low Country Blues. If you’re already in proud possession of Low Country Blues, you’ll receive your choice of an album by Robert Plant or John Mellencamp.
