Philly, i disagree with the 96 line. The music is great but not like it used t be. A lot of fire is not there. I will say this about the band coming back. If the solo gigs go as good as the members think they will, then the band will more than likely do about the same as they did this year. The songs are getting old. 40 some years of the same songs is a stretch and the Band has been good enough to get away with it. But this could be the end. Who knows. It sure looks like the writing is on the wall. Derek's band will take off this year. Then what? Mule will be kicking butt. Greggs gigs will be on fire, now that he has his act together. He does look good and is singing great. When looking at this as these are all strong minded people. In their solo band they are the boss, and the only boss. Now which way would you prefer to play the game. Even Gregg has to dance to the tune of the Allman Brothers. In his band he is the the one calling out the dance steps. Same for the others. I say enjoy it while you can. As Duane said, all good things must come to an end.
The Music is fantastic and good as it has been since about 1996. Hope the band comes back next year with vigor like Mr. Allman says.
"let he without sin cast the first stone"....Music,it is about music.
I can't stop playing "Ain't wasting" from Mar y sol...
You're welcome, Red Dog. Buckle up! 😎
Anytime Pete, I had a blast too. Great meeting all of you and we will have to do it again.
Leon, I would like to thank you for a good laugh this morning. That is a great line. It fits.
Oh boy. Put on your helmets. 😎
I love dickie bett's music as much as anyone, but some of you forget about the beatings he gave his wife.. He has had run-ins with policemen on numerous occasions, and has been known to have shown no respect for the laws of our land at times-- and on and on. Someone in the band could have been killed during his episodes. From what I understand , he has been, and is still in denial. I realize that other band members have had skeletons in their own closets concerning drugs and alcohol. Because of this , it's like throwing stones from a glass house. I really think they were afraid of physical violence that might have led to an injury or even death. But being truthful, I think under the circumstances Butch and the other members have earned the right to play music with whoever they want. Music is how they make their living. I wouldn't want to go to work thinking I might get killed by a fellow worker. Ease up guys. One day Dickie may come to terms with his problems and , the other brothers would welcome him back. It's been a terrible divorce plain and simple. We all should be glad the brothers are still kicking it out. And give our prayers for Dickie. If you have heard him in the last few years, most would agree, that his skills have greatly diminished to the point of sadness. Gregg was as bad or worse at one time, and he got well, and is in a good place in his life. That leaves room for hope, not vindictiveness. My good wishes and prayers are for Dickie and his family.
I want to send a big thanks again out to Wayne and TanDan for the guided tour of the Macon ABB historical sights. It was a heck of a day gents, and one I will not forget. My gratitude.
Dan's comments are always so insightful, interesting to read and just so damn positive 🙂
Just rolled in from Jazz Fest.
Rob: Encores Melissa and One Way Out.
Maybe not Wanee but great as well. Paige and her friends, Erin and Leslie
made it up front in the Mud for the 2nd half, Kay, Will & I hung back but rocked,
Derek.s foot may be bad but nothing wrong with his fingers. Great Whipping Post solos, Gregg sounded great and on clue. Black Hearted cooked as well as Dreams.
We also enjoyed Tab Benoit, First with Jimmy Hall . Anders Osborne and La. Leroux. Jimmy did some Wet Willie tunes.
Then The Wetland All Stars. Tab, Anders, Dr John, George Porter, Cyril Neville. Joined by Allen Toussaint. Great set.
Levon Helm was good as well. He did not sing much but had plenty of help,
Great weekend.
After Wanee and New Orleans, my tour is over for awhile,
My friends who have been pulling for me in faith for my personal request... please continue to do so. I am heading into additional rounds of interviews.

and you still those Betts Blinders Dan i'll be a bit nicer we generaly are on this side.
Went to the show in Macon. Heard some names from here at the hotel. Saw one "famous" person from the website. I thought I was going to have a seat in the middle of the auditorium. Ended up closer to the back. That kinda _ _ _ _ _ _. Especially after driving as far as I did with almost no sleep. I didn't know I could fall asleep standing up, much less with the Allman Brothers playing! I guess I was lucky to get a ticket.
The show was great. I really enjoyed Barry Oakley, Jr. That was fantastic.
Wish I could have stayed longer and done more. Hopefully next time.
The people in Georgia seem really friendly and outgoing.
philly you're still a know nothing ass.
Regarding Carol's request for Big House Museum Brick campaign info, my primary role with BHF iis to promote special concert and fund raising benefits in Macon vicinity while maintaining rock'n'roll spirit, enthusiasm and networking to help charities in the Middle Georgia community.
My personal consensus is that the brick project mentioned is long overdue. Recommend contact the onsite BHM management team at 478-741-5551 to express your interest in such matters.
doggie the man is saying nothing you have not heard before instead of blaming Butch for everything wrong with the world take a look at the problem. Butch is not and was not the problem.
John L, where the heck did that come from? What are you talking about?
Bup,as always, beautifully said ....
SJack, me too 🙂
Tim, I would have liked to be there with you and I know we would have a great time-as most did.
