Hey GB, Below is Phil and Friends summer tour schedule. We know that the Brothers are playing some shows in June, but beyond that are we going to see any summer time Allman Brothers shows? Unless they are planning to go on tour with Phil and Friends for the whole summer there are left with only August to play. Damn that sucks! I enjoyed last years co-headlining shows with the Allman's and Phil and I have gone to see Phil and Friends a few time just by themselves, but I hope they are not planning to tour together all summer. I need a full length Allman Brothers show! Phil and Friends is good but they just don't get it done for me. Last summer in Atlanta on 8/5/01 they played really well but by the end I was just hoping they would get off stage and stop eating into the Allman's time. Anyway sorry to be so negative just hoping to see some of the Allman's dates in the not too distant future. For now though it looks like it is going to be the summer of Phil for Warren. Take care, Ryan Here are Phil Lesh & Friends' summer tour dates: May 4: New Orleans (Jazz & Heritage Festival, Municipal Auditorium) May 5: New Orleans (Jazz & Heritage Festival, Acura Stage) May 22: Santa Fe, N.M. FYI Peachheads: Blondies will be closed tonight after 6pm for a private party. Gotta find a different place to launch from tonight. Any suggs? Checkin' into the Beacon in a few hours. See y'all there..... heh-heh. One more point to make. Last night I just zeroed in on Butch for most of the show, and was totally blown away. I never gave him enough credit, I guess. He really drives the band. Rest assured my eyes will be on his kit again tonight.

Yeah Stormy, they made me hold some of that incense too. That was great kool aid. SPDB, sorry we're not getting your band for GABBA. Are you going to be there? As far as reviews, I can say that last Saturday's show was just about as good as I've heard since Duane died. There was an intensity, clarity and quality that just meshed perfectly. Plus an exceptional set list. Looking forward to the summer tour and looking forward to Dickey Betts and Great Southern this May right here in Tidewater Virginia. It's all good and this family is more fun than should be allowed. 😀 😀 😀 Johnny 😀 😀 😀 😎

Hope Gary Marley Goliath Karen and everyone else have a great time at the shows this weekend. Sunny and 70s today.... No allmans though. To steal Dino's line.. 'hope their practice for the wiltern is going well.' On the useful information note: southwest airlines just started the friends fly free promo again. So I looked at the Wiltern dates and looked at flying NYC - LAX & could get a ticket for $250. So that would be $250 for Gary & Marley or Jeane & NY peachhead or whomever wanted to make it across. Lana could even grab shey for a mere $250. Come on out to the left coast for the leftcoast dinoblues peach party.... Peace love and beautiful music--Scotty

Ric is a good guy, one of my friends. He has some of the rarest ABB stuff I have ever seen. He has the original film of the Fillmore East video that everyone has a copy of. The Georgia Music Hall of Fame got their copy from him. I imagine one day you will see all of his ABB stuff donated to them.

anyone in Macon have any info on a "Rick's Music" that used to be on Mercer University Drive?? They sold music tapes and video. Several of you have contacted me about my band the "Skydogs" playing at GABBA this year. Sorry folks, the band with the same name playing is from Atlanta, not the Bama Skydogs band. Sorry, may be next year! Not sure who posted this but I would agree 10 years without a studio release is a bit long in tooth. It didnt take Dickey long to get some music out, makes you wonder.... Inquireing minds want to know...there are some reviews coming in from the Beacon that are not kind to the 'Bros. I realize that most, if not all, of the post on the GB will be a bit skewed, and thats OK, but let's be honest. Even the greatest band in the world has some less than stellar shows. KNow the truth and it will set you free!! The spring/summer BAMA PEACH JAM is being planned and information on the dates, time, location, ect... will be presented here first!! Some of you will recieve E-mail or post office letters on the event. Hope you can be there. SPDB

If you're going to the Beacon keep in mind a few things... 1) there is no smokin inside... the signs are everywhere... so all those people who look like they are smokin... they are really insence burners tryin to cover up for those who have gas. 2) there is no drinkin.. it's really Kool-Aid in honor of ken Kesey's passing last year. (no not passing gas... that was covered in rule One) 3) Gregg WAS signing autographs outside afterwards Fri Nite... so put your best thong on and have a go at it!(ohh and pay no attention to those 3 knuckleheads taking pictures from rm 303 of the Beacon Hotel above you) 4) I f you see two large dwarfs - 6'5'' facing each other in front of the unrinals, threatening each other, one witha ponytail and the other bald and looking like he was cut out of Mt. Rushmore.. GO USE THE TOILETS INSTEAD. 5) the parking is great... for instructions on how to FIT your car inbetween two parked cars rent Ace Ventura Two... and take notes. 6) If you have seat down in front..(lucky @&@^@) do NOT attempt to go pee or smoke insence during the set unless you a have a GPS system built into your Kool-Aid cup, Night Vision Goggles, Helmet & Shoulder Pads, and Andre the Giant assisting you back to your seat that is now occupied. 7) the hospitality suite is really a recruiting scheme for the new Scooby-Doo movie. 8) If you want to welcome your seat neighbors properly bring them insence & Kool-Aid without them asking. Row g seat 25 especially. 9) Entry to the post-show Lam-Jam requires passing the Brosiety Test... Sing Blue Sky off key, stumble with Kool-Aid cup in hand, somersault w/o spilling, Bring food for Carnivour at the Door (Drummer Jim) otherwise he will eat your hand, and Stump Brofan on a music question, and Bring escort who resembles Natasha Henstridge. 10) Do NOT wear your Eddie Izzard look alike outfit.

Well, good news and bad news. Good news is the best pal I ever had, Tyler (my Grandson) is coming to stay with us this weekend. Bad news is I guess I'll have to go for the mail order Tommy, JoJo and Big John. I'm sure Jeanne knows which "boutique" it is. Beaconaires, buy that 12/13/70 cd. A lot of folks have the unauthorized version but this one is super. Great mix and hearing Duane and Dickey tearing it up like that is priceless. Plus, it'll open the door to many great new releases. I had it on on the way in to work today and just about shattered the windows in my truck. Have fun in NYC and don't get caught! 😀 😀 😀 Johnny 😀 😀 😀 😎
