A great BIG thanks to Glen W. for the 3-19-02 ABB Beacon show, and Warren Haynes 3-20-02 NY show. Very much appreciated brother. What a great bunch of folks here.
Dorene,....Looks like you don't miss a trick...Hehe
Peace All,...Neil
"AIQ, John... You are "Mr Science" aren't you?"
no that's marley 😀
as for jersey, i'm a southern boy and like duane ain't ashamed of it, ain't proud of it. just wanted to say living in jersey from 76-83 some of the best years of my life. it was my "great adventure" (pun intended).
Woody,...I'm laughing my a** off, too funny, but I certainly know what you mean, being from NY. Every once in awhile it comes out of me also. After 21 years of my life in NY, and moving to Minneapolis in 78, that stuff came out of my mouth on a daily basis, too funny thinking back on it now. Good stuff on the GB today. Have a great weekend everyone. Peace,...Neil
As I sit in my office in CENTRAL NEW JERSEY I am looking out on a beautiful cornfield. New Jersey is truly the Garden State (in some areas). They have the best corn and tomatoes.
Woody- How ya doin'? Why is it that New Jersey has so many toxic waste dumps, and
California so many lawyers??
I guess Jersey got first choice
Hey Woody, I've been in one of those very million dollar homes you mentioned watching a sunset like you described...fortunately for me the burglar alarm didn't go off.
Jeanne.....it's been my experience that you can find ding-a-lings anywhere....but most people are pretty nice. :p
OK, I get REAL sensitive about Jersey jokes. I wouldn't trade growing up in NJ for anything. I guarantee you I could keep you in stitches for weeks with summers @ the Jersey shore stories. There are few places, if any, in the US that combine the beauty (just sit in one of the million dollar houses overlooking Barnegat Bay and watch a sunset if you think I'm wrong) , fun and ability to be in two of the biggest metropolitan areas in the US in less than two hours. It was a gas growing up there, especially in the 60"s.
Second point, New Jersey isn't called the Garden State for nothing. They grow maybe the best produce (Jersey corn and tomatoes specifically) on earth.
Now, I'm the first to admit that driving through Perth Amboy or Port of Newark was disgusting, and there are a lot of problems in the northern half of the state. My winter house was 10 minutes from the road that Tony Soprano drives down in the beginning of the show and that isn't pretty, but most of the state and the people are really nice. So in my nicest Joisy accent f%^k you, you piece of s%^t, I'll kick your f*&king a$$. Oops, that attitude slips out occasionally.
Old Coot- I remember growing up and having to do the same thing, also I remember going over the Raritan River Bridge and having the river actually be on fire- Now I catch weakfish, striped Bass, and flounder under that same bridge, The river/bay is cleaner than it has ever been. But heck, We "environmentally conscious" Jersey-ites cant take all the credit, we have many highly paid engineers figuring out ways to ship/store our crap in other places like ...Oh I don't know..... WHITEFISH MONTANA for example Everyone Have a Great weekend!!!
Isn't the state motto of New Jersey..."if it ain't Hoboken don't fix it" ???
During my visits to Bayonne my favorite ecological event was walking down to the Bay of Bayonne and watching the huge garbage scows headed to the Atlantic to dump tons of trash, an occasional python boot and who knows, maybe Jimmy Hoffa.
Well..... all of those "right-turns-to-make-a-left" are locally referred to as "jug handles". Aint nothin' wrong with living in a place known for their chemicals and jugs.
Terri...are there ding-a-lings in Chicago?
Saratoga Tix on sale tomorrow!!!! Unfortunately race season leaves us w/ $150.00 hotel rates so looks like the $19.00 campsite will have to do! NO RAIN, NO RAIN...
Bird....you were trying to keep chemical free in the 60s? You radical.
What a cool find! I have been an ABB fan since I was a small child. I met Gregg in August, and spent some considerable time with him in Richmond Hill, GA. What a great guy!
BTW....have I bragged about my front row center seats for the ABB in Nashville July 4?!?!?
If not...now I have...

Looks like we're pickin on Jersey today eh? How come you can't make a left turn on most of the roads and what's with those traffic roundabouts?Once spent half a day turning right so we could eventually sneak up on where we wanted to get to...My Florida friends used to pull over or give the Jersey snowbirds a very wide berth if they saw New Jersey plates.(LOL folks, people don't drive any better where I live either)
You know what my favorite thing is about the Allman Brothers Band????
My favorite thing is that they are going to be in my town in less than a week!!!!! It's been way to long comin'.
Bocat, how nice for you. I'm not jealous. 😮
EAPFP
Hey Bocat, you got your hair from your mother's side? Was that like a transplant or somethin'??
Just kiddin'; couldn't resist!
