OK, I get REAL sensitive about Jersey jokes. I wouldn't trade growing up in NJ for anything. I guarantee you I could keep you in stitches for weeks with summers @ the Jersey shore stories. There are few places, if any, in the US that combine the beauty (just sit in one of the million dollar houses overlooking Barnegat Bay and watch a sunset if you think I'm wrong) , fun and ability to be in two of the biggest metropolitan areas in the US in less than two hours. It was a gas growing up there, especially in the 60"s.
Second point, New Jersey isn't called the Garden State for nothing. They grow maybe the best produce (Jersey corn and tomatoes specifically) on earth.
Now, I'm the first to admit that driving through Perth Amboy or Port of Newark was disgusting, and there are a lot of problems in the northern half of the state. My winter house was 10 minutes from the road that Tony Soprano drives down in the beginning of the show and that isn't pretty, but most of the state and the people are really nice. So in my nicest Joisy accent f%^k you, you piece of s%^t, I'll kick your f*&king a$$. Oops, that attitude slips out occasionally.
