Welcome to a wonderful place Tim. Enjoy yourself here and "dance like nobody's watching"
Sounds like I missed knowing a very cool person in Tommy. Everyones posts about Tommy really hit home with me. My father when he was alive did not like rock and roll except for the Allman Brothers especially "Stormy Monday". He and I would listen to the Filmore Album in 1971. We both were shocked and deeply saddened when Duane was killed and a year later Berry. We had a bond about the ABB's that lasted until he died in 1990. Saturday at the Chicago Theater I sat in AA in front of Greg. There were four chairs in front of us that the ushers never allowed anyone to sit in. When Greg started playing Stormy Monday I felt Dad sitting in one of those seats. WOW! I will never forget my Dad and all the wonderful friends who have passed on to a greater place.
On a MORE UPBEAT note: 2 days till the ABB's play at Summerfest. YEH! Also seeing Uncle PHIL(that's Phil Lesh) makes me think about Jerry and what awe inspiring years we had with the Grateful Dead.
PREPARTY MEETING PLACE! SOUNDBOARD/MULE 3:30 OR EARLIER. TAKE CARE BROTHERS AND SISTERS
Tim Cash--Thanks for coming to talk to us. Your brother will be missed for a long time by a lot of people.
Brother Tim Cash, WELCOME! What a great treat to read your post. Come back often and help us and yourself with the healing.

Keep the faith!

:D::cool::cool::cool::eek: Johnny :eek::cool::cool::cool::D
Welcome Tim!!! Tommy brought a touch of joy to the GB with every post. Sometimes it was just a line but it was always a line that made ya smile after reading it. It makes me feel good to know that he, too, found joy in coming here. Pull up a chair, put your feet up and stay awhile, brother Tim. *smile*
JFC,look out for that glasses wearing dog-he'll get you in all kinds of trouble with that way back machine.
RonE, ya got a valid point, good buddy. If you want to feel better, move to Montana..... I never have any scheduling or ticket buying conflicts for ABB shows in this state. Which brings a question... Did the ABB or any member ever lose their minds and play here? Seems Oteil did once, maybe.
good to "see" you tim. tommy brightened up many a day here...he will be missed dearly!
Welcome aboard, Tim. Drop by anytime. Looking forward to your posts.
OK, for once it's my turn to gripe.
Here goes. This has nothing to do with anyone here -- I know these decisions are made elsewhere, and by people who generally could care less about concert fans. I'm grateful that we get shows where I live, but on behalf of a whole lot of us down this-a-way, let me just opine that it's stupid and frustrating that Charlotte & Raleigh once again go onsale simultaneously. (And Atlanta too, this year.)
In my not-so-humble opinion, shared by others, the genius that made this decision costs the band ticket sales by forcing ticket buyers who might be able to go to multiple shows but are on a limited budget to opt to try to get day-of-sale seats for one venue or the other, which discourages multiple show purchases. (I also think that doing the shows back-to-back, however convenient for some of us, means fewer ticket sales among the regular folks, who would and could manage to see the band twice in a summer, but not twice in 2 nights).
Tim, thanks for the post regarding Tommy. You're absolutely correct that we will all miss him and please do keep coming back here. You'll have to come up with a signature tag line to replace "Hi to all my friends". I was re-reading a few of our emails and had a few chuckles and a couple of tears this week...
Ah, Douglas...my young friend! I'll let it slide for now...give you some time to let the chemicals leave your system! 😮 😉 Glad you had fun you madcap! Looking forward to August mayhem at Waterloo... 🙂 🙂 🙂
Hey Neil, uh..yeah, that's it.
I really am having a blast with this summers' tunes & ALL the shows. I know where I was, where I have to be, what state is next cause them dang hippies won't come & play for us in Ontario, Canada. 😀
Economy, schmonomy....
But we do get Phil Lesh, Warren, Jimmy, that's way too cool. 😎
This ain't gonna be a " Wish I was there", this summer kids.
Raleigh, NC ~ here we come, bring it on baby.....:D
Stormy, last thing I thought you would be blewing...
C'mon Michigan, where are all you GB folks. Preshow ~ Preshow ~ Preshow
Later, Karen
Yes, Johnny. Road trips are good. What would we do without them?
Karen - For the record, you'll want to go to the first exit north of Pine Knob. Then the restaurant is right past the overpass. Have fun!!
Hi to all of you. Tommy C was and will always be my brother and I will miss him every second of the day. I lived with him since 1995 when he was divorced and it's great that I got to spend time with him before he was gone. I helped him as much as I good but it never seems enough. It hit me like a ton of bricks this morning so I thought I would try to carry on his tradition of staying in touch with ABB and fans. He really enjoyed this website and corresponding with all of you and I'm sure if there is a computer in Heaven you will be e-mailing you soon(TOMMYC@HEAVEN.GOD)?
He was cremated yesterday and we put his ashes in my Father's back yard in the same place we put my Mother's. There are about 4 large pine trees and flowers around them where we put him. Remember, as long as you don't forget someone they will always be with you!!!!!!!!!!!
Well said Johnny. I wasn't at those earlier shows BUT Chicago - especially Thurs - was unreal. Glad to see somone 'in the know' agrees - and was in the 'same place'!
G.S. - Atlanta it is for me too, and hopefully the Ham the next night. Gotta say though, I hope the ABB Management get the promo in action for ATL. Was checking TM, and prices are $25-$50 w/o an opener listed. They charged about the same last year with Phil and Susan T on the bill, and that one didn't sell out. I was more expecting the $15-$18 lawn seats if just the ABB. Hope the Friday night thing brings more folks out, or something.
So, can we start throwing out requests for September already? Good -- I'd love a 'Maydell' opener and Jimmy Herring sit in for 2 or 3 songs (One Way Out and Statesboro NOT being one of the ones w/ Jimmy). There, said it.
Back to work...
Hey Jimmy, I'm glad somebody else likes the idea of calling the new instrumental..."New Instrumental." I was going to suggest that, but I thought some might find it, like me, a tad goofy.
When I was a youngster, we got a kitten and started calling her Kitty while we thought of a name. You can guess the rest: we decided after awhile to just keep calling her Kitty. Seemed to work for her.
So, who is getting Atlanta tickets Saturday?
😀
