Hey Brent......sinsamelia..............EAPFP
Brent...be afraid. Be very afraid. *laugh* Lordy, now that's a dream!
Good mornin' sweet family,
Epiphone has released an Allen Woody signature bass:

Take care and know that you are loved,

Good stuff bird72! Now hows about that oedipus guy I been hearing about...
First, Billy such sad news, I’m sorry. And like someone said, the opposite spectrum, Carl! Great news on you…. My thoughts to you.
And for Brent, you asked…..
I was riding a beat up old blue motorcycle with a banana seat (Sting Ray bike, longing for lost childhood), half a mirror (an unfinished item from your youth) and only two working gears (feelings of inadequacy due to this childhood issue) from Los Angeles to Fresno (you feel you should be punished for this failure, by journeying from hell to limbo). Riding on the back were Derek Trucks and Alan Woody (you cling to the only release from this inner torture, through music).
We stopped about halfway there (maybe Bakersfield ) (more penance journey through hell stuff) at a black motorcycle gangs house. (an attempt at leaving this issue behind, by becoming a man about it, bike gang, etc) Derek goes in one of the back rooms to get voice lessons from the lead singer of the Counting Crowes (this part has no explanation, you are just a bit weird). They had a buffet laid out of old moldy food and we were starving. (you feel lacking in something you see as vital to the sustenance of life) So Woody found a bottle of Ketchup and drank it like a beer. (your desiring to get drunk displays escapist, avoidance strategies)
Next thing I remember is Woody and Derek running out of the neighbors house (which was real nice) (an allude to feeling you haven’t achieved your lot in life, coveting anothers house) and telling me to start the bike and hot on their heels was this overweight housewife in a kimono swinging a watering can at both of them (the memory of your mother from your childhood, really “chasing” you, and it is another way of taking yourself to task for this unresolved issue).

"There's an old blues tune "Big Mama From Kokomo", so I could make it fit if it wasn't for that darn kimono."
I don't know- Kokomo, kimono, Brent's brain may have just been confused about which was which. Given the rest of the dream, I think that wouldn't be too surprising. Sounds like a fun one, though.
Billy, so sorry to hear of the horrible loss of your friend.
Very sad news.
And on the other end of the spectrum...
Way to go Carl. We're all cheering you on,
sending some heavy-duty positive vibes
and lots of love. You have a great brother.
Johnny-JFC is one special dude!
GPM...some healing vibes to you bro. Sorry I don't have any "healing cookies" left to share with you. You know I would have shared some with you, but they are all gone.
Lots of love and best wishes to all...
WHOO HOO!!! I just got my tickets for the Austin show!!!
😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
Brent,
Concerning your dream/
Had you watched the "Simpsons" or "South Park" before you went to bed?
Sounds like either one of those shows should pay you for your dream script. Dream ON!
Good evening, all. How is everyone doing tonight?
🙂
Heading out with some friends to see Lucinda Williams at the TLA in Philly tonight. Can't wait. First saw her open for the Brothers on the 99 tour. Been hooked ever since.
Sadly I was stone cold sober. This is just the way my banged up - burned out mind works.
Funny mushrooms! 😉
BRENT!! What did you have to eat before you went to bed??
Okay Brent, I've got two thirds of it figured out.
As far as the mode of transportation and overall condition of the motorcycle, well that means people will do anything to get out of LA, even if it means going to Fresno.
The moldy buffet etc means along the way you stopped at a Denny's.
The overweight housewife in the kimono chasing Woody & Derek (and somehow I can actually picture that with Woody) still has me puzzled. There's an old blues tune "Big Mama From Kokomo", so I could make it fit if it wasn't for that darn kimono.
I'll keep workin' on it though.
I'm still working on the specific elements of the dream to analyze things completely however one thing is clear...the moral to the story is, never count your crows before they hatch.
OK, so I think I am losing it. Can someone tell me what this dream means that I had this weekend?
Here's what I remember:

That's all I remember. It was so weird I had to get up and write it down. Can someone tell me what it means?
Jeanne,
Sorry to hear about Alan Lomax. I read one of his books on the history of blues music and thought it was excellent.
On of the questions in the faq/music is whether Statesboro Blues is about Statesboro, Georgia.
Blind Willie McTell (who wrote the song) grew up in Statesboro, Georgia, so you can be reasonably certain that the song is about the same place.

Hey folks, how's tricks? Just been hiding out and concentrating on my kids swim season. Had championships yesterday and our kids lost for the first time in a decade. They took it with class, however the parents of the team that beat us were complete a$$holes. The coach made a speech after the meet and pretty much made our kids feel really bad. Jive trash talk. I was amazed. I've been oblivious to the "politics" of kid's sports but afterward our league rep. went on and on about how bitter and petty the whole process can be (her included). What a bring down. The kids and coaches are, for the most part, fabulous role models for the swimmers, though and it too bad those parents seem to be compelled to turn a good thing into a fight. Being competitive is one thing, ruining the kid's time is unacceptable.
Anyway I'm still employed and down to 13 days to the Alaska cruise. Been listening to Mountain Climbing a lot lately, a great CD. Have a great weekend and week, Even though I'm not around as much as I used to be, I try to get by and really miss BSing on a regular basis with the best fans of the best band on God's green earth.
