There's a forum thread over in the "Anything Goes" section....you may have to dig back through it quite a bit, to find the thread. But someone there posted an e-mail response they got from Evil Teen Records. As I recall, they made some changes with respect to distribution companies, which pushed the release date from May back to July or so, but they had already sent out advance copies to press and radio stations. I sent a message to Evil Teen also asking for an update, but never heard back from them. I believe they're the same folks who manage Mule (Hardhead Mgmt), so if the frequency of updates to the Mule's web-site is any indication, we might see Vol. 2 before the end of *next* year. The official web-site for Vol. 2 is www.xmasjam.com -- but that hasn't been updates since before the 2000 Christmas Jam. Another not-so-good-sign. Keep fingers crossed.....we'll see it eventually.
Have a great weekend y'all.

Has anyone actually been able to find or order The Benefit Concert, Vol.2? Our lousy local radio station actually played a song from this the other day and I have seen the reviews that have been posted here. Has this actually been released?
Hey Southpaw great story and sound advice. I remember starting out on geetar. I couldn't even tune the thing which hampered the learning process tremendously. So a little advice to the beginner from the "Nator: Get A Tuner! The single most important thing I did in my musical career was talk the parents into getting me a Conn Strobotuner for Xmas. From then on I was in the band regardless of my musical abilities. I played with some great pickers, had some great times and yes met some great chicks. Ahhhhhhhhh.........the sweet mammor....er....memories. Yeah that's it. In roughly 5 minutes you could tune three guitars and a bass and you were off. Too bad we couldn't plug in the singer. LOL!!! I remember one gig in college we were playing a frat house. At least 300 people there. It felt like we were the Allman Brothers. Then of course sombody said the pig's ready. Everybody and I mean everbody deserted us to go get some 'Que. We had to stop mid-song. And by the time we get out to the vittles the only thing left on 'ol Mr. Pig was his head. The party devoured him like a school of pirahnas. Good thing we weren't very hungry if you know what I mean. Just another story about the poor band not getting paid or fed. Rowland and Lana thanks for providing us this site where we can share these helpful hints, anecdotes, etc. with fans of the greatest band in the world. Peace and may God bless y'all.
gribett! :bounce:
:waving: Hi to all my friends *TommyC*
Terri (and Libby and Linnie and Michael, and, and, and??...) you will definitely see me at the Lammie NuttHutt B-day B-jam. I wouldn't miss it for anything! What with all those carnival-like attractions like the "Flinstonian bbq pit", the ever mysterious "Tarp of Secrecy" and that crazy game of skunk huntin, how could I stay away?!
Lammie...will Leo come out and play? We'll have to tell Sheila, it's guitar pickin not nose pickin! Marty's a different story.
I finally got around to sending in my contribution to Rock and Wrap It Up! If you haven't already, y'all should check out this organization -- our sis Terri is a proud volunteer and the ABB is one of the providers of much needed food to the needy. They do wonderful work and provide the less fortunate the opportunity to Eat A Peach For Peace!!
Check out the prizes for their raffle, too. Some pretty cool stuff!

but if any of you young gorgeous hippy chicks.....:boomerang:
Southpaw, man you are a brave soul! I wouldn't be so brave after a few of the messages I have gotten around here lately. Yikes! All I did was check out his members profile and ran the other way!
Hi all, If you happen to be in the Cincinnati area on Monday 6/2/03, there is a great show in town. Etta James And The Roots Band, with The Blind Boys Of Alabama. They will be playing at the Cincinnati Zoo Ampitheatre. It is a pretty small venue, but there are still tickets available. It is the first time Etta has ever played Cincinnati! It is a great place to see a show, as you get the day at the zoo as well. It is a family oriented show with no alchohol being served.
Litlle Feat are one of the great live acts out there. The last couple of shows I've been to the volume was a little too high on the vocals but they just kick butt. They are incredibly talented and versatile I can't get enough of them. Talked to Scotty the other day the formation of a Santa Barbara road trip are talking shape. Wooohooo!!!
Have a good Friday and weekend, looks like a scorcher for the left coast, good pool, beach, mountain weather (ain't it grand to have those options, all in a couple of hours driving.)
Happy Friday Folks.....HOY HOY
Okay, we got our butts totally kicked by some Little Feats last night....man they were so on it was amazing.

Thanks Rowland for all the hard work in getting this site back up and running again!
As for EJ and aiq....I remember EJ and I had a cosmic connection when we both made our 500th post together over on the forum....ever since then, it's been nothing but "aiq this" and "John that"....geesh...
Congrats you two!
hey gang good morning:cool:
learning guitar, my sisters boyfriend was the guy that really got me going, I can remember asking him to teach me roundabout by "YES", mind you I didnt know squat at the time... when I look back now and see how complex the tune is I laugh so hard....moral of my story. Pick a easy tune to learn then go for the gusto:lol:
Got ya covered, Charlesinator. And yes, Donna is as good as she is billed. A natural born blues belter and picker.
EAPFP
Libby, that's why I like you. You know your music. Rusty is a good friend and a heck of a guitarist. If there is any way I can help you with your geetar pickin' let me know. We here on the GB are blessed with some fine pickers who have unselfishly helped me with my pickin' that I feel obligated to return the favor. Who knows in some time there could be a triple bill Susan, Donna and.......Libby ta-da!!! Duane said something about teaching those who would seek. When I first started alot of those who could play wouldn't show you nothing. I remember begging to learn the chords to Stairway To Heaven. LOL! Speaking of this Donna Hopkins......................... I sure like to hear that show with Barry Richman. Hint, hint, hint. I hope she is as good as she's been billed. Peace y'all and God bless you.
Thanks Rowland! You are the best!:D
