Hey Southpaw great story and sound advice. I remember starting out on geetar. I couldn't even tune the thing which hampered the learning process tremendously. So a little advice to the beginner from the "Nator: Get A Tuner! The single most important thing I did in my musical career was talk the parents into getting me a Conn Strobotuner for Xmas. From then on I was in the band regardless of my musical abilities. I played with some great pickers, had some great times and yes met some great chicks. Ahhhhhhhhh.........the sweet mammor....er....memories. Yeah that's it. In roughly 5 minutes you could tune three guitars and a bass and you were off. Too bad we couldn't plug in the singer. LOL!!! I remember one gig in college we were playing a frat house. At least 300 people there. It felt like we were the Allman Brothers. Then of course sombody said the pig's ready. Everybody and I mean everbody deserted us to go get some 'Que. We had to stop mid-song. And by the time we get out to the vittles the only thing left on 'ol Mr. Pig was his head. The party devoured him like a school of pirahnas. Good thing we weren't very hungry if you know what I mean. Just another story about the poor band not getting paid or fed. Rowland and Lana thanks for providing us this site where we can share these helpful hints, anecdotes, etc. with fans of the greatest band in the world. Peace and may God bless y'all.
