Lest I forget, we also have Government Mule with Gregg sitting in on the get out the vote show-9/19 once again at Red Rocks.
Congrats to Derek and Susan, thats awesome! Cleveland DTB show blew me away,I love how this band is growing. And as I am doing Pittsburgh this year, very excited that cc.com is now showing the show (maybe it always did,but I am happy anyways)as:9/05/2004 The Allman Brothers Band wsg Warren Haynes (solo) I could never get to much Warren!! Peace!
I just explained to a newcomer within the last couple of days how the Dickey fights start up regularly and part of my explanation was someone like Rick T will throw an insult, maybe in a veiled way or maybe will say, "just kidding". And Whamo, here it is again. Rick, why dont you understand that you regularly stir things up doing what you just did? Cant you be more positive? It is no different than a Dickey fan or a LS fan coming here and throwing an insult, followed by a lame "I was just kidding"? Take it off the gb if it is a personal thing-I dont want it brought up ad naueseum.
sweet peach-you think you are telling us important, inside things, but unfortunately for you, they are old things here and your 3rd party stories have not added anything to the overall situation.
Hemlock, I know you kind of oversee the gb to "protect" Dickey and actually post more on his website, but then you should know that most everyone here is supportive and positive about Dickey and I doubt he needs so much help covering his back.
Now you all can throw darts at me if you like-it would be a refreshing change from 4+ years of the same old, same old.
My ABB related year:
Derek 2 times at the Gothic theater in Denver
Oteil and the Peacemakers at the Bluebird theater in Denver
ABB 3 times at the Beacon
ABB 2 x at Red Rocks
Warren opening for the Dead at red Rocks 2x
Warren with the Dead at RR 2x
Government Mule 2x -once with Phil and friends
A second Phil and friends
Warren acousticall at Twist and Shout records
Dickey with Great Southern last summer in Denver and in 2 weeks in Windsor Colorado
Susan sitting in with the ABB a couple of times-saw her 3 times last year, but I guess the pregnancy kept her from too much this year.
I know there is more-just what I remember from my old brain (in which I have been trying to kill my short term memory for many years LOL).
So there sure is a lot of good, positive things happening, if you want to look at it in a positive manner.
Have a great day all.
Linnie - Instead of VIP parking - can I have VIP limo service from Rockland County? LOL
okay...me and my little road trippin' buddy Shelby are going to hit the road and cruise on down to Pittsburgh and catch Oteil and The Peacemakers...
What a rush decision that was....:burnout:
Later, Karen
from Syd at RAWIUP:
I have been donated at least 4 tickets for Jones Beach 8/24/04 show. They are special tickets which include VIP tent priveldges which will have dinner, VIP parking, alcohol, premium seats. I will ask $150 a ticket, face on them is $85, dinner and the rest is worth at least $50-75 dollars.
There will also be a silent auction for RWU there and I am getting some great items.
anyone interested please contact LinnieX or terrib
i'm not a tax accountant, but since you would pay RAWIUP i belive these are write offs.... ; )
Trying to ask a question without letting any cats out of the bag....so...
The recent POG has some info that doesn't match a message on the Musictoday site....anyone (via PM) know for sure what is available tonight?
Wanted to Congratulate Derek, Susan, and 'lil Charlie for their new family addition. My daughter was the first girl on my father's side born in 117 years so we were 'slightly' surprised when she came along. Within minutes I was the happiest cat in the land...and it gets better and better every day...EVERY man should be so blessed to have a daughter. And I'm so glad our friend Derek joined the club today. Peace. :clapping:
Hey Scotty ... The Warren/Brent conversation went something like this:
Warren: "Where's Dino?"
Brent: "I don't know ... "
That was great of Brian to do that, Linnie. You should of had him sign it as well. 😀
i wonder if brent knows what he said, scotty!! 😀
on Saturday afternoon i had KnownRider as my witness and did most of the "talking" then. Warren was really relaxed and totally cool.
Monday night he had a throng of a crowd out there so i just thanked him and wandered off after the pictures where taken.
something really cool i didnt mention: I gave Brian Farmer my "DEEP END" cd cover to have him get Warren to sign it Saturday.
after i met warren about an hour later i completely forgot about the cd cover.
When i went up to the stage last night...brian recognized me and said "Hey, wait a second, i have your cd cover" and presented me with my autographed Deep End Cd cover 😛
how freaking cool is that?
Walter Trout and his band of Radicals will be at the Ramapo Valley Brewery, Suffern, Rockland County, NY on Sunday, August 15 at 8 pm. Tickets $10 - can't beat the price and the venue is an intimate bar with their own brewery.

Thanks to PeachyPete for taking the photo of Derek with me and Chitown. It is one of my most treasured possessions. One of these days I will get around to posting it in the fans section.
The funny thing is after it was developed I noticed Yonrico making a funny face in the background and Mike Mattison is looking sideways, so even though we thought we were getting a photo of Derek, we got one of 60% the band in the bargain.
Most LOL warren movement was back in 2002 at the Wiltern. Some angel bestowed passes on Brent and I. We're backstage under the stage and there are a group of 40 or 50 people. Most of the people are sitting in this square room with couches and chairs. Band members are wondering in and out of their dressing rooms.
Brent is standing in a hallway prior to the seated area literally frozen. He is like a shy kid in the corner. I go over to Brent and we're talking and I notice he began to get silent and freeze. I turn to see warren coming towards us as Brent is shrinking into the wall. I step to the middle of the hallway and say something like "Warren this is my buddy Brent who is a real fan, but petrified to talk to you." warren turns sticks out his hand and says "Hi, I'm warren Haynes." Warren goes on to focus and talk to Brent for 5 minutes. Till this day I have no clue what Warren said but I know it was a moment that really meant a lot to Brent.
peace and love--scotty
Peachy, I'm with ya. I caught some of it and no question they are talented musicians, however, they just don't have the soul. Just my opinion.
First of all congratulations to Derek and Susan. Brofan, Chitown and I got to meet and talk to Susan, Derek and baby Charlie back in 2002 after the Derek show at Luthers Blues in Madison. It's still one of my all time top brushes with greatness. Welcome baby Jessica.
On a different topic they broadcast a Phish concert special on our PBS affiliate in Milwaukee. My niece and her boyfriend are huge Phish fans and she is always sending me emails about them so I decided to watch the show. I lasted about 40 minutes. I can see they are real talented musicians, and I know reviewing music is similar to being a judge for figure skating, it is 100% subjective and each judge see's it different.
But to me the music has very little passion and while I admire their their musical skills their improvisational process and the way the songs build really don't grab my attention and take me to that zone the way the ABB, Derek, or Dickey do.
Ah yes, I too had a Warren encounter. A couple of years back at the Electric Factory, Philadelphia, we waited for the band to leave the building and were treated to Warren and Chuck Leavell coming out all by themselves. They put down their instruments, thanked us for coming and proceeded to meet, greet and sign anything. No "star" persona at all. I still treasure my autographed ticket!
I know there are a few Satriani fans here. I'm thinking of surprising Chuck for his 40th birthday with a Satriani ticket package for the Beacon show - Oct. 16, and I was wondering if anyone ever bought a ticket package from fanfire.com. For $100 you are guaranteed a ticket between rows 3 & 15; a tshirt and a laminate - which if spotted, could upgrade you to meet and greet Joe.
Did I just type that Chuck will be 40 - damn he's getting old - LOL
Welcome, Jessica Naima Trucks! :fanfare: Congratulations to Susan, Derek, Charlie, and the extended Tedeschi and Trucks family! :fanfare:
Hey now!
Huge congrats to Susan and Derek on their blessed event. Jessica Naima, eh? That has a nice ring to it...
With all due respect to the participants in the slugfest the last couple of days, I think the Trucks' bouncing baby girl is just what we needed to calm things down and remind us all of what is really important.
Linnie, congrats on meeting Warren. My Warren story is very brief. I had just seen the Allmans at Cincinnati Gardens in '91, and somehow managed to get lost on my way out of the venue--lots of wierd staircases that led nowhere, plus the drugs were real good that night!
😎
Anyway, I came to a door, and decided, what the Hell, I'll see where this leads. I opened it, and Warren was standing there in a hallway all by himself, having a quiet moment and a smoke (didn't know he smoked...maybe he has quit since then). So I just said, "Oh, sorry," and started to walk away, but then thought better of it, turned around and shook his hand and thanked him for a great time. He thanked me for coming and asked where I was from. When I said Louisville, he told me to drive carefully on my way home--turns out it had been snowing the whole time the show was going on and it was still coming down pretty good.
:cold:
The whole enounter lasted 30 seconds or so, but hey, I'll take it!
Hemlock, I was listening to that 5/7/00 show just the other day. Not sure what was going on behind the scenes, and I know some of the spring 2000 shows were pretty rough, but I thought the Music Midtown show kicked butt! FOUR instrumentals--"Rave On," "J.J.'s Alley," "True Gravity" and "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed." That's what I'm talkin' about!!
