Hey JNB.Thanks for the reply.I had already looked at the site(in fact,REALLY looking forward to hearing the Macon tapes!)I did'nt see any of the "remasters" I've been reading about, and already have the original releases on both vinyl and cd.I hear there are different remasters of both EAP and B&S,and as Butch has said, B&S was a great album, but the production was'nt very good!I would love to here Jelly Jelly as it should sound!!!:-D

Calm down and don't yell, trainrunner.
Peakin' at the Beacon and the Beacon DVD are two totally different animals. Dickey Betts was still in the ABB when Peakin' was released, and it was released to fulfill a record contract, from what I've been told. The DVD was shot in March of '03 with Warren Haynes back in the ABB and sharing guitar duties with Derek Trucks. I highly recommend the DVD.
HELLO TO ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS, I HAVE A BURNING QUESTION DO ANY OF YOU THINK THAT PEAKIN AT THE BEACON IS THE WORST ALBUM/CD THAT THE BROTHERS HAVE EVER RELEASED? BEEN THINKING ABOUT BUYING THE DVD OF THE BEACON SHOW RELEASED LATER, PLEASE WANT SOMEONE WAKE ME FROM THIS BAD ASS DREAM AND TELL ME THAT THE DVD IS A DIFFERENT SHOW, DIFFERENT TIME
TRAINRUNNER
Hey fanfrom71 there are remasters of all the ABB catelog. Most at your friendly neighborhood record store. Do y'all have any Best Buys or Media Plays in St. Pete? Even Wal-Mart should stock a couple of those. However, CDNow and Amazon.com are just a click and a credit card away.
Do yourself a favor while your at it pick up their latest Hittin' the Note. You won't be sorry. Also Seven Turns, Shades of Two Worlds and BWIAB are great records if you haven't heard the band since 71.

Hey everyone.:alarm:Been looking for remasters of Eat A Peach/Brothers And Sisters on the net.Any info on which are considered the best would be MUCHLY appreciated! Please AND thank you.
A day late, but thank you Duane. Without you, there would be no Hittin the Web, we wouldn't know each other and whether we're liberal, conservative, or just a great bunch of whacked out weirdos, your music will last a lot longer than all of us, which is what really matters!!! Wail on Skydog!
Hola, weekend Guestbook crew!
Come on over to the forum (Peach Parties section about 3/4 of the way down) and nominate someone or a song/solo/show for a 2004 Peachy!
Still time to nominate before the voting begins in a couple weeks....

Hey friends, I'm reconnecting with Hiintheweb for the first time in almost two years. I'm thinking of Duane today and that wonderful show in Montreal that I got to experience two months before he died trucked on home.
RIP Skydog
Been playing Duane era ABB all day long. Went to work and went to a club to see some great musicians. Had on my Duane Tee Shirt. People in the club had a lot of questions about who he was. Had a lot of conversations with the people on the scene.
Duane is not "really" "gone", we have just not caught up with him yet.

It's always fun when you hear something new about Duane. I'm sure plenty of folks got to hear some great stories over the course of the Jam for Duane. While I was down in Florida, at Magnoliafest, one of the guys that use to rent a house to Duane, while he was in Muscle Shoals, came by the HTN tent. He told me Jaimoe and Duane used to go caving around the area for fun. Never imagined Duane or Jaimoe doing that! I did plenty of it in myself in my late teens and ealy twenties. This guy said when Duane moved out and he came over to clean it up for the next renter - he discovered a carbide light that goes on the caving helment. When he opened it up - inside was some great herb left behind accidently by none other than Brother Duane! Just one of many gifts he left along the way...
God Bless Brother Duane and also Brother Ray Pavlovic - who passed on the 29th day of October a few years ago. Ray was the one who said to me and Hop "I never thought I would live long enough, or be lucky enough to hear Duane Allman and Derek Trucks in the same lifetime!"
Amen to that, Ray!
Skydog...your music touched my soul...

Something really struck me today...the outpouring of love, thoughts, and memories of Duane. The day that we lost him, so many years ago, I felt incredibly alone and empty, even though I was with a group of great friends. Still, they didn't understand, or couldn't understand, the loss that I was feeling that day. I had lost a mentor and hero, and someone that could never be replaced.
It is overwhelming that all these years later, people from all over the US are still feeling the same loss that I felt back then. And it is so reassuring that Duane had the kind of effect on people that we at home always knew in our hearts, that he would. Duane was a six-string poet, and a champion of the average guy...just so long as the average guy took the time to understand his music. Cry on sweet Melissa.

Contemporary music is like drinking tap water...you don't notice how bad it's gotten until someone gives you a taste of something different.
Thinking of Duane today, and to borrow a term from Buppalo1, thinking of the legacy that Duane built and how it has not only survived but thrived.
Everybody who went to the JFD will get a kick out of this. I just got through watching the Outlaw Country Concert on CMT. Sure Skynyrd was there and Kid Rock and James Hetfield etc, but playing harp and sax all night long and credited as musical director of the whole shebang.............(drum roll please)........none other than our wonderful guest Jimmy Hall!!! Mike Joyce, bassist for the Prisoners of Love, was playing with several of the acts. Way to go Jimmy and Mike. Peace y'all.
