When I hit the lottery, I will be carried to my front row seat in my wicker carrying throne by a dozen nubile maidens scantily dressed. I will buy all the seats in the entire row, and even have a seat for my cowboy hat. I'll have a crew of french maids delivering snacks and drinks. If it is stuffy or smokey we will need a fan attendant to circulate air. And of course I will buy my tickets at the highest ebay price.
Brofan you're exactly right, these are the people who real fans can't stand who go to the beacon because they heard its the cool place to see a show in march. they are the ones who halfway through the show you see sitting down with there hands holding there head cuz they don't recognize any songs except for jessica and ramblin man which they can't figure out why they haven't heard yet
To Eagleball, regarding the Keswick Theater. As Jacquie mentioned in her post, the Keswick is a terrific and intimate venue -- not a bad seat in the house. You'll love it.
As for bars, etc., there's one right across the streer (its name escapes me right now) and it's usually packed for a good show like GA&F. There are also several nice restaurants within easy walking distance that are bring-your-own-booze (which, if nothing else, is cheaper). All in all, a nice dinner-concert experience. See you there...
The Keswick is a great place to see a show..They have a bar...If you want to smoke you have to go outside..They let you in and out with your ticket stub...Comfy seats that slide back when you sit down...
Jayden is in our prayers
Thoughts and prayers going out to baby Jayden...
Eagleball, the Keswick is a great venue. You will not be disappointed. The Sweeties will be there with a few surprise guests on the 29th! Make sure you look us up.
Brofan, so true. I onced had someone point to Greg and say, (trying to sound cool) "Who's the guy playing the keyboards?" He looked pretty embarrassed when I told him it was GREG ALLMAN, dumbass.
all you Philly peeps, anyone know anything about the Keswick in Philly. I'm seeing Gregg there on the 29th. small? big? security?bars? smoking?
Just looking for a little Philly recon.
Some people are very lazy and LIKE to brag how much they paid scalpers for their seats....
My experience is these are the "fans" (who usually can't name a song from the band's catalog) who show up 45 minutes to an hour late, often drunk, disrupt those around them, talk throughout the show, often on a cell phone, and especially loudly during the acoustic portion of the show (I watched Neil Young have one of these yuppie "fans" thrown out of the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee during an acoustic show for using a flash when he specifically asked that no photos be taken at the beginning of the show) and then leave at the intermission and don't come back. Good riddance.
Oh yeah, and they yell "Dickey" nonstop throughout the show.
Wait-no they don't. They have no idea who Dickey is or his contribution to the band. All they know is "Wasn't Gregg married to Cher?"
Thanks for sharing those pictures Cathee! Loved all the reviews too - wished I could have been at this one.....
Thanks for those photos Cathee!!
Prayers and much love to little Jayden Tyler and family....
Later w/love, Karen, Lynn & Family
LOL!!!
R people really paying these prices???
You could go the night of the show and get them SOOOO much cheaper from the scalpers outside the Beacon.LOL!

Hey GB. Just had to share this with y'all. The ABB must be movin up in the world. My friend called a ticket agency in CT to see about orch seats on 3/11 and was qouted 800.00 for row bb center. I told him he should not even bother with calling but he wanted to see what was around. Can u imagine paying that amount for anyone??
Whew! Anyway I thought that was hilarious so I needed to share. Peace folks.
& best wishes to Jayden for a speedy recovery...I'll send some mardi gras beads to him if that will help!
the post below is from my good friend Cathee, who posts frequently at the Tom Petty website and is going to mardi gras in new orleans with me in three weeks and a day...Look out New Orleans!!!
Apparently Jayden Tyler's lymph nodes behind his ears and neck are swollen the size of golf balls. His white blood cells are very elevated. He was scratched by a cat. They are taking blood to check for Mono, cat scatch fever, and other diseases. His throat is red as a beet. He did laugh when he heard his grampa on the phone!
