Also, congrats to the ABB for making the Rolling Stone mag's "Immortals" list. Nice recognition of what we already knew. (No sarcasm intended.) IMO, a very clear and concise essay on the band by Billy Gibbons.

I wanted to say "Thanks!" to all those who stopped by Dickey's sit to wish Tattoo Neil well. Neil mentioned that he goes to the library to go on line these days as his computer is down, so his time on line is limited so it's not certain if he'll have the option to stop by here as well. It was a true act of brotherhood for those who stopped over at Dickey's to wish him well! He hasn't been by as of yet, but I'm certain all the kind words from everyone will give him a boost in spirits. Thanks again folks and as he hasn't been by since Saturday y'all can still post a good wish for one of our very best, Neil Grant!!! .

That's great news, Bird!! Here's hoping for a healthy future, not only to you but to all. Sadly, a close friend succumbed to a self-inlflicted OD. Brad Burns, who drummed with Barry Richman, and for a while was with Col. Bruce Hampton and the Fiji Mariners, died Friday at age 50. We had fallen out of touch to a large degree, and his life had completely turned to sh*t, and honestly--this is a bit of a relief to most of us that knew him (including his family)--he's no longer suffering--but nonetheless, it's a sad occassion. Brad was a truly talented musician--great drummer, awesome singer. But he was on the same trip as was described about the life of Jaco Patorius--someone who set out to totally f**k up his life. Well, he succeeded. Such a shame. On a brighter note, I hope to see some of you this Saturday at Wanee. I think we could all use some great musical vibage about now. I know I could... Horace EAPFP
