Dear Allman Brothers Instant Live Sales Force: I purchased an iInstant Live Double CD at The Wanee Festival, Saturday night after the show and was told I would receive my Music in the mail. It has been two weeks and The Mail Carrier has lost their patience with my campsite... I have a receipt and would like to redeem it. I need a little help from my Allman Brothers Friends.

"Hey Everyone, I appreciate all the very quick responses and suggestions. But please no more. I fully understand the importance of these old concerts and will see what I can do to get them heard. JB " You asked, we delivered..... :guitar: CaptSkipper is your man! Why? He devotes alot of time to restoration and preservation of vintage Brothers music...... again, why? He shares, it's a labor of love to him. Skip understands the Brotherhood and he loved Duane, he came from that era, he wants to keep the spirit and gift alive so that generations can see and learn what Duane was all about.... There isn't enough Duane era footage out there for folks who want to hear, remember, feel, laugh, love, fellowship..... I'm gonna stop here, I get pretty emotional when I think about Duane. I have some friends here who understand where I'm coming from....right Buppalo, Skip, Goliath, Denza?? If I could send Skip the moon and stars every day for 10 years, I'd never feel it was enough compensation for the joy that he's given me through his sharing of his talent.... no, his gift and his friendship! That's my .02!

Black Crowes Pre-Sale of Instant Live CDs "Together Instant Live and the Black Crowes are going on tour to record 13 Black Crowes shows on the East Coast. Our advanced pre-order sales at newburycomics.com are limited to 500 CDs per show. Pre-order now for delivery to your home, or you can pre-order a copy to pick up at the show. These recordings will also be available for purchase at the show, but now's your chance to reserve a copy today and pre-order these limited CDs from newburycomics.com, an official seller of Instant Live. Is there a shipping and handling fee with my order? Yes, whether you are pre-ordering for home delivery or pick up at the show, you will be charged a $3.75 handling fee for the first CD ordered and $0.75 per each additional CD ordered at the same time (US orders only). International orders will be charged $5.50 shipping and handling, maximum 1 CD allowed per order." I still think that this would be good for the ABB sales. Hittin' the Note could do the presales....I would order!!

My only hope is that if these reels are the "real" deal (ha ha ha), that regardless of who they get turned over to, Kirk, Captain Skipper, whoever...that they don't disappear into some black hole, but that they get circulated for all to enjoy. Always room for more Duane era goodness!! 🙂

can it really be - six reels of previously-undiscovered ABB masters from 70-71!!!!!That's the most exciting news I've heard in a long long time, especially coming on a day when the wounds of losing Duane and the scurrilous rat-bastard Rolling Stone article that followed are reopened.

JB - I also agree with everything that Hophead has said. You can not go wrong with his advice.

Hey now JB - My name is Ron Currens and I am the founding editor of Hittin' the Note magazine, the Allman Brothers quarterly publication. I need to put you in touch with Kirk West, the Allman Brothers Archivist. He is the only one I would trust with this transfer and he and Capt Skipper have worked together in the past. Thirty-year old reel-to-reel tapes are fragile if they have not been perfectly stored and need to be processed before they are played the first time. An expert could determine if your reels need this treatment by physically examining them. Rejuvenating them would require baking them at low heat for an extended period of time, then playing them back once only -- they must be transferred perfectly on the first run because they will deteriorate rapidly on the take-up reel. If these are tapes of Duane-era live shows, then they are precious beyond words. Please contact me as soon as possible so I can hook you up with Kirk -- the music on these tapes must be preserved. Thank you for your kindness in posting about these tapes on the Allman Brothers Website. I will do everything in my power to preserve the music and get it circulated. Be well, Ron

JB Austin - you want to deal with Capt Skipper. EMOTW I would not give those reels to anyone else. Nothing personal to anyone else who is qualified here (including myself) but Skip is the best man for this job. Good luck. Check your e-mails. John

Good Afternoon, I'm brand new here and was curious if anyone might know who to go to to get some master reels converted to cd. These reels where my fathers, who was friends with a guy named Callahan, who he said was the sound man for the Allman Brothers, and the person that gave my dad the reels. So I've been told. There's six reels that are all dated either 1970 or 1971. Anyway, I'm not looking to sell them or anything like that. I just want to get them put on cd and then maybe passed around to all the fans that might want to hear them. If anyone can help me I can be reached at jbbaustin@earthlink.net Thanks, JB Austin
