Sending out good vibes to Sweetie Linnie; hope you heal up from that nasty encounter with a broken mirror. Wishing you lotsa good stuff for your new home. Nice weather finally hit NY, and I hope we all have great weather for all the outdoor venues this summer! Mitch

Hey now! How y'all doin'? 1400 miles later, and we're back safely from Intercourse, Pennsylvania. It was such a scenic drive, especially the stretch going north through the West Virginia mountains. Just beautiful countryside. And Intercourse was really nice. I never knew that Amish country was such a tourist draw. The whole Lancaster Country area was really thriving. Some funny sights, too...a couple of Amish teenagers on rollerblades holding onto the back of a horse-drawn buggy and being pulled along...an Amish woman in an ankle length dress and bonnet using a weed wacker...a horse-drawn buggy "parked" at Waffle House...an odd and somewhat surreal experience being in Amish country, I must say. Anything exciting going on around here? 😀

Rcvd my 'Hittin The Note' yesterday. How'd you guys achieve that stained-glass effect with the logo? Looks great. Hores Pen? Isn't that the battle right after The Battle of Cowpens where Daniel Morgan and the boys snuck into Tarkentans's British camp and tied all the horses tails together? The resulting chaos of spinning horses caused one soldier to quip: "Look at them all going merrily around in circles!". Thus the Merry-go-round was invented at the Battle of Hores Pen. Some things just never make it into the history books.

Owen--saw your post about attending Bonnaroo w/your 14 yr old son. I think that's great. OK, I read about a bunch of people bitching and complaining about taking their kid to the Allman Bros show somewhere in California, and they had to get outta Dodge because they didn't want their kid getting a contact high. Please be prepared, and not too shocked. The Allmans and the other bands attract a crowd that smoke weed. A lot of it. Often. There may also possibly be people out there with a pacifier in their mouths. They're on x, most likely. Some guy in a tye-dye may be off to the side saying "doses". This sort of thing happens at a lot of jam-type shows. An observant person may witness a deal or two going down. Nothing to be afraid of. Happens. Just thought, you know--in case you weren't aware--that Bonnarroo ain't gonna be like a Braves game.(Actually, it'll probably be a lot safer than a Braves game--or walking down Atlantic Ave in Cape Cananveral) I'm not trying to be condescending at all. It's just when you read about someone taking their kid to a show, it quite often is followed by "...I couldn't believe all the dope. What's this country coming to? Omigod...." Which is really tiresome. Have a great time. I'm envious. Horace EAPFP

Do you take checks? I saw a great ad for gibson guitars tonight--a father is quizzing his daughter about what guitars Jimmy Page, Bob Marley and BB King played so she will know which one to pick out for his father's day present at the music store! I wish I had thought of that years ago!

Before we go thinking the Allman Brothers Band is some overlooked gem or not a recognized major musical act, we need to think about it. Here is a band that has sold millions & millions of albums/cds (Decade of Hits sold over 2 million alone in about 6 years), was a first ballot inductee into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, experienced their largest popularity during their non-original lineup years, had 4 guitarists in the Rolling Stone 100 greatest guitarists of all-time list including #2, and is one of the most played bands in the history of album-FM-rock radio (albeit a format that isn't as dominant as it once was). Go Google them up to see how many times they are written about and mentioned every week in the media...90% of references are positive. Not bad for an underground secret.

Pert Plus Boy and the Oxy Contin Right Wing Facist Pig Mouthpiece? What a dynamic (not) duo. Man that makes that 5 bucks I've been taking off a yankee for the Mets/Braves series that much sweeter.

Well said Randy. I hope the "Mainstream" keeps on keeping on listening to the crap the big music companies shove down their throats as "music", and those of us who get it go on (not so) quietly listening to this great band in smaller theatres and out door sheds. There's the question of the Big Payday, but ABB seems to be doing all right.

Terri, I am a prankster to my very core. The first thing I plan to do is call Donna...Doris and ask her if she and Rusty enjoyed the hores pen. Can't help it!!
