excellent DTB show thursday in portland OR. Very high energy and the crowd was enthusiastic to say the least. Almost filled the place. Malhoun was amazing, sailin on, very nice key to the highway, everything's everything seems to have been reworked and jams, hook encore. they really seemed to stretch out on almost every tune. During one of kofi's solos, he started yelling "derek trucks is a bad mutha" and the crowd unleashed the f-bomb a few times. They seemed to be enjoying themselves and it really shined through in the music. HOT HOT HOT. I'll post more after eugene tommorow. ty

Was about to do a long, rambling philosophical post, this is not the time--too many hurting today. My sympathies to Lynn Bomberry and family....I wish I lived close enough to give you a hug, my Brother. Hoping for better days for you guys. I'll just say that there are wonderful things happening in the world of Peachdom these days, things many thought could never be. If those involved want to say something--well, it's not my place. I'd like to think that the random meeting between Kim and Johnny at the 2004 Jam played a part, I'm sure the unexpected passing of Buffalo Evans did too. Of course, I'm just an outsider. All I know is, getting along with one another is just about the most important thing there is. And it's nice when folks give each other the freedom to think differently. Guess I got a little philosophical after all. EAPFP

Sorry to hear about the unfortunate T.M issues again, lost Tics and so on. I have been battling the flu the last 8 days, yesterday was the first day I was out of bed and was able to eat solids. I apologize for not being around. The flu hit me hard and knocked me down. I am not one to get ill often but this was a dandy. I lost 8 pounds in 8 days....I will need to go shopping before St. Patty's weekend in NYC.

My deepest sympathies to Lynn in the loss of his mother, and to Karen for her loss in this, too. Sounds like Lavonne made all of the in-laws feel like real children of hers - thinking of you all in this difficult time. Also, my heart goes out to Brother Willie Perkins in the loss of his life-long friend, Scott Hayes. Thinking of you especially, my friend. God bless and keep all those who have suffered losses... Much love always, Willie Howard (from Mayberryetta, a suburb of Hot'lanta)

I am so sad to report that today, one of more infamous ABB roadies, Scott Hayes died from complications of cancer that had pretty much ravaged him over the past year. Scott died just two days short of his 65th birthday. True to form, Scott never let the disease slow him down - he followed most of the doctor's instructions but he continued to live as if he were a healthy man, walking, talking (could that man talk!), and causing mayhem as those of you who know only Scott could do. Scott was best friends with Willie Perkins and Twiggs Lyndon since high school and, for Willie, he will be especialy missed. Funeral arrangements are pending. Elizabeth

I wish I could have woke up in Macon, GA this morning. Randall Bramlett and band with Gregg sitting in on a couple of tunes. Coulda hung with banesh, my brother Wilie Howard, Goliath and Misself, Luke, Kirk, Kirsten, Judi, Chank. Handshakes, hugs and kisses for sure. H&H breakfast and the trip back home... I am sure my brother Willie is home, banesh is home, hope Luke makes it back safe. I am sure the locals made it back ok. Thanks Helen and Willie for the calls. Ya'll stay up much too late for me...when I ain't there. A Macon trip for me is in the not too distant future.

So live, that when thy summons comes to join The innumerable caravan, which moves To that mysterious realm, where each shall take His chamber in the silent halls of death, Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night, Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams. ---Byrant
